I use my MacBook Air M2 with 16GB of ram for work and school and it’s a beast , I’m a web developer.

Another thing to consider is the high resale value of a used Mac… I had the 16” M1 Pro with 16gb ram and 1TB ssd and just sold it for $1,200 and bought the 14” M3 14” with 18GB ram and 1TB drive and got it $200.00 off at Best Buy so my outlay was only 1k for a brand new M2 14”.. I’m a happy camper… 16” was too big for me… hated lugging it around…

i was expecting battery percent and machine heat at the end of the video, cuz important part to consider i think how the machine is performing, even 16gb ram performing almost same as 32gb ram, the machine maybe struggling, producing more heat. So it might not last longer then 32gb ram. I don't know if i'm thinking right. Let me know what u think or if u have experienced, it would be helpful to me cuz i'm currently thinking to buy one. Actually it really doesn't matter shutting down or hibernate. The problem is the charging the battery via cable plugged on all the time which shortens your computer battery lifespan. For example, you're at 85% battery. You have to charge it to keep it at 100%? No sir. Charge only when below 10%. That is the best health for you computer's longevity. The processing chips itself has no issues on the silicon unless you're overpowering your mac with high end gaming specs which can heat the sillicon and when fan doesn't do enough cooling, the diodes start being damaged due to high heat. The turn on and off is only stressful if you turn and off the computer every 15 minutes or less.

Just upgraded from M1 to M3 Air. The speakers are so much better in quality and loudness. Although the older model had a better speaker placement. I'd say it is worth it just for the new design. Don't forget that Apple has $100 education discount so these prices shown can be actually lower.
