Thanks for your lesson. I was trying to find how Scottish gaelic sounds. Great job. Best regards from Poland!

You're my new favorite person. I've been trying to teach myself Scots Gaelic for a few years now on Duolingo and another service but it's just not clicking for me. I stumbled on your posts after seeing another youtuber (Scotland History Tours) link you in their video and I've already learned so much. Your teaching style is very approachable and hearing the way you add life to words makes them so much more "real". Thank you for doing these!!

why do you say "alaba" instead of "alba"?

I'm so happy I've found these videos! Two of my grandparents spoke Gaelic but it didn't get passed down, I am determined to learn but have been finding it difficult. The way you teach here is exactly how I learn, thank you so much!

Hi Jason, I like your teaching style, but must admit you confuse me with the Gaelic word for whiskey. One moment it is Uisge Vaya then it is Uisge Baya. Is that a slip of the tongue or have I missed something?
@GaelicwithJason19 днів тому
Madainn mhath! No worries, wee changes like that can be confusing. In this case, it's a different grammatical situation: 'the whisky' vs 'of the whisky.' Uisge-beatha changes when we mean 'of whisky,' which makes it have that V sound. Well-heard! 🙂

Omg, could all language instructors just please write the literal?!? We already know the structure of the familiar language. It's the flipping everything all bass-akwards that interrupts the word match & locking in the association for me.

Jonas, I think there's a mistake on your board : watch the first sentence (...taigh mòr) and the last sentence (...taigh mHòr).

Sure thing; thanks for your suggestion. Any ones in particular? 🙂

Jonas, in the word "Dòmhnall" is a "n" but you don't pronounce it ? Why is there a "n" ?

I have lived in Sweden in my whole life. But last summer I learned a new swedish word. Labbi. It is a small shed there the ironworkers slept between the workingshift. About 1600 or 1700 maybe. 1:25 Only some beds. Just thinking.

I really hope you continue to write novels because they are such a great learning tool and are really enjoyable. Do you have any plans to write another this year? I hope so. Thank you and best wishes. Mel.
