Here's a tip. If you want hashbrowns crispy and brown on the outside in a patty like shape, stir the oil into the hashbrowns from the beginning, flatten them out somewhat, keep the hashbrowns a bit lower than med high temp and leave them alone until u see browning around the edges, then portion (cut in) to spatula size and flip. Note. Get as much water out of them as u can. I have a large mesh handled drainer I use for this. The key to crispy and BROWNING is draining the water out as much as you can and get them in the pan or griddle, and leave them alone. Patience is key here. Unless of course you like them as the video shows.
