April 20, 2024. Walmart closed down years ago in Raymondville. Since the pandemic and now high inflation, this story popped up on my screen regarding business closures. I was surfing UKposts for anything about my hometown. Does not surprise me at all. This store was built in the middle of nowhere. Not even the expressway traffic was enough to sustain it, much less a small town in Willacy County, one of the poorest in the state. It is so sad.
