Can't do cold weather well anymore at age 63. Arthur came many years ago. Makes my bones ache. But years ago my kids loved the 2 - 3 weeks we went camping every year. Cooking out over the campfire, every meal. All my homegrown veggies. The meats seared to perfection. Either a muffin "cake" like blueberries or cornmeal like a pone. Or brownies or popcorn, or s'mores for dessert. Coffee & breakfast to start the day. Egg scramble, or fried eggs, with bacon or sausage or ham. Bagels, maybe pancakes. Or a hearty sausage gravy over fresh baked biscuits in the Dutch oven over the fire. Such great memories! The kids started counting down weeks before we were to leave. Sometimes as soon as the new year. We went the first full week of July.
