@@BrofessorDG He was phenomenal in Mass Effect and just about every other thing he's done tbh. The whole cast in PS:T were top notch. Deionarra gives me chills even nearly 25 years later...

Modern games sound worse because modern voice actors are not only fledglings, but have very little but more likely absolutely zero experience in theater, and never learnt how to properly use their voice. Most of them are aspiring actors and don't have any idea how to properly use their voice.

The voice actors in games now have been around for literally decades and often have had major parts in both Eastern anime and Western cartoons, along with a number of them in copious numbers of other games and some movies. The quality of voice acting in video games is better these days than it ever was in the past. For every game that had even half decent voices, there were tens of them that were absolutely atrocious. Back in the 90s, games had little to no voice acting, so the budget for them (and thus the quality) was minimal at best. PS:T was an outlier in that it focused on these things, so went on with VA's such as Rob Paulsen, Jennifer Hale and Keith David, all of whom are still active today.

@@Grigeral Absolutely untrue. The vast majority of "voice actors" these days are beginners. Of course there are still a few veterans around but they are not the majority, not at all. Dubs for not only anime but quite often western cartoons are worse than ever. The death of theater has had a major hand in this. Voice talent is the worse it has ever been. I would take 90s overacting than the soulless twitter-born ""actors"" we have today, easily.
