I think a bigger deal needs to be made of the constant "Too many men on the ice" penalties Boston is taking. I can clearly recall 2 of them against the leafs (although I'm thinking it was at least 3) and now one against the Panthers. So someone on the bench needs to figure that out; those are stupid, no debate penalties that just cannot happen, especially in the playoffs. And it's not like the guy jumps on a second early and someone throws the puck at the bench. Last night, the guy that needed to run off was at the damn Center Ice face-off dot. The lack of bench control is another big flag. Either the coach has lost control of his players, or his players aren't paying attention and dialed in to the game.

who knew that discipline could help you win a playoff game against a more talented team. as a habs fan i've seen it many times but it is always so satisfying to WIN a game with your brain and goals and not punching your opponent because you played badly. second round has been a blast so far. avs comeback, nucks comeback, rangers overcame 2 penalties in OT to win it and Boston losing their minds.

Their record last year was due in large part to goaltending. The D were not that much improved. I think the Blues will compete for a wild card next season, but not much more. The Krug and Kyrou contracts are major problems.

Sorry- playing the oilers is not the same as playing the panthers. The oilers are soft. The panthers ARE goons. You really don’t have a choice when you play the panthers.

Pettersson is playing well. He was a net positive since he played so well defensively. He's just snakebit when it comes to offence. He could have a big game on Friday and all of his scoring touch will come back. Or he could just play well enough defensively that it doesn't matter, as the Canucks have depth scoring.
