@TomatoFettucciniМісяць тому
That's it? You just ride the bus? Maybe you could provide commentary about how each system could improve, like @RMTransit or @NotJustBikes. All three of these services need critiques from the public to help them improve, particularly the HSR. Hamilton has, in comparison to decades previous, fairly poor transit (and a lot dirtier, too). Hamilton used to have trollies, which were cleaner, quieter, and more powerful than their diesel replacements (thanks GM, really appreciate your fine work usurping Bombardier, a Canadian company), as well as Escarpment trams, and a ferry from what I believe is now Confederation Park to Toronto. I'm not 100% on that, and there may have also been a ferry from the Pier 4 area to Burlington. In any event, Hamilton could certainly benefit form a number of transit upgrades, from the LRT that we're finally getting, to numerous Express routes (on Barton especially; it's the busiest, longest, and most-frequent route in the city), from Ancaster to Stoney Creek, a Linc/RHE route, a Nightbus service, and actual indoor terminals instead of the shellscrapes we get at the hubs that basically have banker's hours. A ferry wouldn't hurt, either, since we do live beside a gigantic body of water, one which hundreds of thousands of people circumnavigate daily, and many of those people travel from the Niagara region to the 416. Ferries could save hours of travel time for tens of thousands of people a week.

This video was filmed in 2022 so at the time the 2005 MiWay already served the City of Mississauga for 17 years. The 2005 MiWay served in Mississauga for almost 20 years because they were delivered to Mississauga 20 years after the Scarborough RT Line opened just like the Scarborough RT served in the eastern district of Scarborough for almost 40 years. These Mississauga buses have served at Islington Subway Station for most of the years they were in service which was from 2005 until 2020 and when Kipling Regional Bus Terminal opened the MiWay 05s have served in the City of Mississauga for more than a decade. When the 2005 MiWay ended their service at Islington Station it was during the COVID-19 pandemic so things were very different at that time. As of January 2024, the entire D40LF MiWay series is retired after 20 years of service in the City of Mississauga. Some of the retired MiWay 05s sent to Durham Region Transit. Both MiWay 05s and 06s have retired around the time the TTC was closing down the Scarborough RT Line that opened back in March 1985. After the MiWay 05s and 06s are retired trips to Erindale GO Station were removed to end at Square One in January 2024. I remember when I took the 2003 YORK REGION REGION TRANSIT on 88 BATHURST from Seneca to Finch and GO TRANSIT 19 from Finch to Square One to take the 2005 MiWay on 3 BLOOR from Square One to Islington during the holidays in 2019 which was before COVID and during the first WinterFest at Canada's Wonderland. When I took the 2005 MiWay on 3 BLOOR from Square One to Islington during the holidays in 2019 the MiWay 05s have already been in service for 14 years since the entire D40LF series have been around for 16 years in the City of Mississauga. When I took the 2005 MiWay on 3 BLOOR to Kipling Station during the holidays in 2022 the MiWay 05s have already been in service for 17 years. The reason why I wanted to take the 2005 MiWay on 3 BLOOR during the holidays in 2019 and 2022 and the 2007 MiWay on 3 BLOOR in September 2022 is because I will be living in Mississauga for college and for work. Since summer 2019, I know all about YORK REGION TRANSIT, MiWay, and GO TRANSIT. At the end of 2023, these beasts are gone for good. The MiWay 05s have served in Mississauga for 18 years and the MiWay 06s have served in Mississauga for 17 years.

No way this guy assumed it's 0427. This bus is part of a batch of buses purchased to supplement the growth of Brampton Transit ridership while also essentially supplementing the fleet while they await for new buses.

What a far cry compared to the 61 when I lived near Mavis/Britannia back in 2003-05. Back then, this route and almost all Mississauga Transit routes ran only once an hour, even during rush hour, which of course was really rough to depend on especially in the winter. D40LFs, Orion V and VI were used on this route then, and the Orion V were notable for having very blue lighting in the entire bus. I currently live in Vancouver now, and the RapidBus service (somewhat like a bus rapid transit) there also has identical XDE60 with the BAE powertrain, even the seat model is identical, though the layout is a bit different. It's so strange to see the MiWay 61 now being served by the XDE60, and seeing this video totally makes it feel like being on one of Vancouver's RapidBus routes (numbered R1-R6) for sure.
