The only thing I've found that is HARD with that fabric is that it gets so hot. We're at 8500' and the sun is so intense. The plants seem to have a harder time because of it. Especially transplants. Any tips for dealing with that?

This is perfect timing! I bought my roll a few weeks ago and need to put it down in my in ground garden. I had the exact problem these guys did last year, I had a jungle and it was crazy! I’m so excited to see how my garden does this year with the weed fabric! My only question is hope wide does the water from the drip tape go? So if I want to plant a 3 or 4 foot wide area could 1 drop tape line down the middle be sufficient? Thank you for all your videos! ❤

Hello from Bucks County, PA! Your store is out of pressure compensating sprinklers! Any ideas for an alternate? Will they replenish the supply? Regards, Old John

We have not found another source for them. We are not affiliated with them in any way so we have no way of knowing when they will be back in stock.

I have just laid 6: 6' x 50' and will do 9 rows with drip tape. Using timer to water before I get up (LOL). So this video was perfect! QUESTION: Once the different size/spacing holes are burned, aren't you planting the same stuff in the same place year after year (no crop rotation)? And how do you replace nutrients the plants use every year? No more compost addition? Or do you remove the weed barrier every year and store over the winter (Michigan winter here) so you can amend the soil? So I am asking about crop rotation and soil amendment under ground cover and irrigation system. Any advice is greatly appreciated, Doug

Hi jim80 from Las Vegas, our garden in Chesterton Indiana. I didn’t catch where you buy the pressure regulated emitters ? Hope I’m saying it right. We will be using raised beds this summer.

Love your shirt! My hubby said how clever to use a torch. We never have for our ground cover and it always shreds. What size is your torch? He thinks ours is too big/strong a flame for this

I was so glad to see you did not use any seed oils.

I've never seen DeWitt fabric with the red lines before. Is that any different than yellow?
@LivingTraditionsHomesteadГодину тому
DeWitt makes several different kinds. We typically use the DeWitt Sunbelt (yellow stripes). They purcahsed the DeWitt Ultra Web (red lines). Seems a tad bit thinner but it will still work very well.

Hello Joe from Springfield, Missouri like you said in the video get to know you guys better right now the way things are around us. I believe it should be up to the people if they want to create their own Homestead make sure what kind of animals are allowed on the Homestead before you, buy them and if you’re just gonna use the property just for growing food on there for yourself or for yourself and anybody else . But as for cabin right there, he’s growing a nice beard in that all he has to do is shave that mustache off and put a straw hat on and you be a young Amish person ( LOL )

I've had a pair of Embden geese raised with my layers for 4 yrs. During laying season the geese get very territorial and attack my hens. But today they actually killed one of my hens today. They've all cooped together for years and all free range. I'm gonna have to build a goose nesting area separate from the hens and keep them separated now.

I got the 12ft wide folded. It’s just folded to be 6’ and on a roll. You just unroll it and unfold it. Not hard. The hardest part was trying to put it in place with wind. It’s constantly windy here in SE Oklahoma. Think I’m going to get 8” staples for the future too. The staples (6”) where the fabric overlaps keep coming up.

I tried running my drip tape under my woven ground cover. It worked fine, until there was a leak. And don’t worry Kevin, it won’t go unnoticed! But it was mid season, so no way to replace it other than just run a new tape on top. Didn’t see a bit of difference. So I put all my drip tape on top now and haven’t looked back.
