I'm pleased he worked a toaster in. Why? Because the 'Microsoft security' scammers phoned me once, (fortuitously after I had enjoyed a few adult beverages) and I played along, but after wasting half an hour of their time, I finally let on that I thought they were the manufacturers of a defective toaster I had recently purchased, finally getting back to me to help figure out why my bagels were burning. They then somewhat impatiently explained that we were supposed to have been working on my computer all this time. I wasted another half hour of their time, and when they finally asked what I could see on my monitor, I groused that my English muffins were still coming out scorched. They got really PO'd and began coaching me through exaclty what I was supposed to type. I played along a bit further, but then complained that I could not find the alt or delete keys on the microwave console. I suggested that I couldn't understand them because of their broken English, and I suggested they should bring in an interpreter. I certainly understood the obscenities they hollared at me before hanging up on me (without even a friendly goodbye)!

The customer servicer he spoke to at the bank was a fan of James and so when they were asked for ‘James Veitch’ they knew it was as most likely a scammer that he was playing with, and hence they gave the scammer a warning because they knew the kinds of things James does with scammers. 😂

The CIA would be smart to hire this man to train their people to break subjects without laying a finger on them.

This reminds me of this Instagram post that my mum once got on her account saying "I received this £3000 car, I've been through loads of awful stuff but this proves that God exists and is looking over me" (basically it doesn't say anything that she'd say!), but this shows that he is right - by posting that, the only people that'd reply to it are the most gullible people! However, when cold callers phone we do wind them up!

I've played with a few scammers. One was pretending to want to date me, so I let him send me the original poem he said he wrote (which I researched and found on the net). The confusing part was that he said he was from Bavaria, moved to the US (where his wife and kid died from a car crash in his arms), took the project in the UK, but had a middle eastern accent.... appreciated the video of a man petting someone else's small dog, (no audio to say he loves me or anything). We had spoken on the phone, and he actually got mad at me! Lol Then one day he 'frantically' asked for $5000 and a plane ticket, because the 'project' he was overseeing--drilling the tunnel from England to the mainland-- went terribly awry, as 2 people were hurt with a huge wrench and 1 died soon after.. I said ok I will get the money. I kept him waiting till time next day. Then said Ok! I sold my 3 houses, cashed out all my RRSP's and so I was ready to start my new life with him! This wasn't the first time he'd been angry at me over the course of these days-- talk about a broken man-- and then our 'relationship' ended. Sniff.

How you know you've won at scam emails: -Get them to call a bank (or any other official institution) who warns THEM to be careful about YOU -Get them to say "conditions would apply" to a contest/competition/etc. that you literally just made up -"PLEASE STOP EMAILING US"

The lottery win of every comedian out there is that one woman that just can´t stop laughing and drags everyone along with her.

I tried playing the scammer a bit like this guy did but it was a woman wanting to get me to join some dating sight. She kept saying she cant let her boyfriend know she is doing this. I basically kept getting asked over and over to join a dating sight. I kept making outlandish comments saying things like "I am a navy seal you will be safe with me" I was hoping for some results like in this video but it was just constantly me being referred to this dating sight. In retrospect I dont know enough about computers and scams and all that so I have decided to let James Veitch do this as I am just not smart enough to do it safely.

Not that I reply to scam emails (they usually get deleted or end up in my junk folder), but I did recently waste the time of a Facebook government impersonation scammer. You see, someone set up a FB account in the name of one of my friends and started messaging me about government grants, but, having known this friend for many years, I could tell from the tone and language of the messages that this wasn't him. This person told me to reach out to a "government agent" regarding these grants, and to humor him (and stop him from messaging me incessantly), I did. The "agent" then informed me I was entitled to millions of dollars as part of a contest (which I had not entered) and sent me a form to fill out. The form in question did not look at all like an official government document, and had numerous spelling errors (i.e. United State of American, Photo ofYour ID, Delivry, Phone Cell). I kept asking this individual for alternate means of sending me the form (i.e. sending me a link to a website, sending through the mail), and when he told me the Facebook form would be secure enough, I flatly told him I would not be filling it out, to which he angrily asked why I contacted him in the first place and threatened to report me to the FBI (which is something the FBI website states federal agents cannot do). I simply said that I prefer to waste the time of someone trying to con me out of my money.
