I still follow the sport, the drivers are as cookie cutter as the tracks are.

I could almost guarantee that was another concussion hit... Everybody knows about the hit he took in Kansas City practice in 2012, California in 02...but I'd put this one up there.

Spencer definitely punted Busch intentionally in the first race unless you believe 44 and 97 both lifted at the exact same time. Wrecked a lot of the rest of the field too. Deserved exactly what he got at Bristol.

The guys not realizing greg took 4 tires despite them SHOWING GREGS PIT STOP ON SCREEN where he clearly takes 4 tires (and dick bergren commentating the stop), AND not ever course correcting on it and just rolling with it despite how fast he was on “2 tires” is peak FOX

Dale Sr had that race won that day.. that's a race that would have made the championship between he and Labonte a lot more close as season wore down. He drove from back innpack to the lead without aby funky strategy , just a bad ass fast car and then whike leading a lapped car wrecked in front of him and caught him in it. Instead of winning he ended up outside top 30.

That comment is underrated. Bobby Labonte from 1995 to 2003 was one of THE FASTEST drivers on Superspeedways (although i never saw The rock as a Superspeedway) as he won at Pocono 3, Indy 1 Charlotte 2 Atlanta 6 Homestead 1 and Darlington 1 Michigan 3 but not just that look at his STATS at those tracks and even though he never won at Texas Vegas and California look at his stats there too he was CONSISTENTLY the only driver that I feel was on par with Jeff Gordon during those years. Not even Mark Martin or Dale Jarrett had better stats in that stretch. It was consistently Jeff Gordon and Bobby Labonte on intermediate tracks/Superspeedways that were NOT plate tracks.

Sadly, these cars and this aero package sinply doesnt allow for this kind of racing and car control these days, no matter how skilled you are. Also, with all the data and experience today, a lot of these guys are just as skill as Dale was. Nascar has evolced, and everyone is soo skilled, and soo good. Its too bad the rules package today doesnt allow for the wiggle room this one did
