Hello, I see that you say in other comments that you have connected the ARGB of the 6 fans in a chain to a single ARGB connector on the board. In the video I only see you connect the 3 front ones to a fan connector but I don't see how you connect the top or rear fans. Do you also connect the 6 fans to a single fan1 connector to regulate by pwm or have you connected 3 to a fan1 port and another 3 to another fan 2 connector? I don't think it is good to connect all 6 fans to the same fan connector on the motherboard. Thank you and your channel is excellent

@dostuffwithjonathan2549 20 днів тому
Hello, yes as you said, at 6:20 you can see in connected the front 3 fans , the same way i connected the top 2 and the rear fan (didnt record that), than everythin is connected together and plugged in in one fan connector as seen in 7:23; so summary -everything daisychain connected and plugged in in one fan connector ARGB, i'm still using the same case and fans -everything works perfect, no issues. But also yes, as you said, for my motherboard is 6 ARGB fans at one fan ARGB connector, it varies by motherboard
@isidrocastanon
@isidrocastanon 20 днів тому
@@dostuffwithjonathan2549 Thanks for your answer. It saves you that they are 120mm fans. In my case there are 6 140mm fans that require higher amperage. In my case I will choose to split 3 and 3 to 2 ARGB ports and 2 pwm ports.
@Helskrim
@Helskrim 5 днів тому
@@isidrocastanon According to P14 and P12 ARGB spec sheet they both draw the same current 0.4A so x6 is 2.4A and ARGB headers are usually max rated at 3A so there's still some headroom left. For fan headers usually max rating is 1A, in this case 0.17A for 140 and 0.11A for 120 so for 140 I'd split 3x3 just to be safe altough Arctic fans have one of the lowest electric draws, in comparison some fans are known to draw up to 0.3 amps! Lastly, you should still check in your mobo manual for amp ratings for Fan/RGB/ARGB headers just to be sure because some older boards may have 2A max rating instead of 3A so better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the very helpful video! For the rightmost pad labeled 1.0 mm in the video I ended up going with a 1.5mm pad because I could see a clear light gap between the pad and components when shining a light from the bottom of the board after re-assembly. Guessing there could be some minor board to board variation. For folks replacing their pads, it may be worth spending a couple extra minutes to shine a light between the reassembled board to ensure the pads are touching all the components. The hot spot temps dropped by over 20 deg C for me! I'm thinking the old thermal paste was shot / almost all pumped out.

Thank you SO much for making this video! I was clueless on this process, had never taken apart a GPU before. My Gigabyte 2080 Super Windforce OC was suddenly sounding SO loud randomly. The fans were kicking in unbelievably loudly then going quiet and then loud and then quiet. It was infuriating. It used to always run quietly. I did this process using the GELID Ultimate thermal pads and Kryonaut thermal paste and my GPU is night-and-day different. In the same game/scene, my GPU temps have gone from 74-75 degrees down to 59-60. The fans are so much quieter, and my clock speed is far more high and stable. Thank you again for making this video, it really gave me the confidence to do this project!
