Are you really gonna put ads on this! I hope you give the revenue to the band, otherwise it's kind of a dick move, they really take you out of the listening experience which is a shame when it comes to such a masterpiece of an album.

Good stuff and very talented musicians but six minutes in they’re literally copying trilogy by ELP.

I think this is the best of song oriented progressive rock...hell maybe its pomp or theatre rock...to me a large part of their visuals and overall surreal cartoonisms seemed lifted from the Bonzo Dog Band...thats as close as I can get...too formal to be pop and too silly to be authentic progressive rock...hard to say what these lads were after in 1975...truly original masterpiece I adore...never heard anything like it before...

This was one of the best albums ever made by them. Can’t say they were more superior than ELP! Both Bands were Fantastic!

...was a big Triumvirat fan in the 70s, and its still so amazing stuff... my favourites in order: ...the goodies: 01 Illusions... (their master piece) 02 Old Loves die hard (underrated - love it!!) 03 Mediterranean Tales (bit chaotic, but very charming) 04 Spartacus (surely good, but overrated for me) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ...well, if you're desperate for more: 05 Pompeii (half of it is quite good) 06 A la Carte (tracks 1+2 are cute, rest is crappy) 07 Russian Roulette (complete disaster)

@deanevangelista63595 місяців тому
I first heard this in 1975, when I was about 16, and was blown away. Their follow-up, Spartacus, was also a great LP, but the follow-up to that, “Old Loves Die Hard” just didn’t make the cut.

Beyond masterpiece.... phenomenon. I was seventeen blasting this through my headphones from portable cassette player and blocking out the rest of the world in 1977. Sad how Helmut died.

Thank you for putting this up. Saw Triumvirate once back in the fall of 1974. They opened for Fleetwood Mac on that band’s “Hero’s Are Hard to Find” tour. It was Bob Welsh’s last go around with Fleetwood. I am kind of bummed that I don’t remember much about Triumvirate from that show. Had a new girlfriend and she was into Fleetwood Mac. Don’t think be it was a real good show for Triumvirate. As I recall they exited pretty quick after their set and that was that. Have since come to appreciate their music more. Especially with the hard turn Fleetwood Mac took towards more radio friendly music.
