I haven't seen an electric furnace look that new for YEARS! I'm on my second one, the first one met with a failed crucible and got turned into a copper art piece.

At which part of precious metals refining you collect those filter papers? aquaregia filtering after dissolve all metals or nitric acid solution filtering after dissolve most of metals except gold?
@ogbullion4 місяці тому
All the filters from silver and gold recovery/refining.
@ayhamhafez2854 місяці тому
What I don't understand is how there is still gold and silver in the filter papers and as supposed you rinse the filter paper with water very well after finishing filtering the aquaregia or nitric solution bearing silver?
@ogbullion4 місяці тому
@@ayhamhafez285 i can't rinse 100% the dissolved metals from filters not metter how hard I try, always left some. The dissolved sterling silver and other old silver items always carry some gold that i catch in the filters as black/brown mud. When i filter gold solutions and have silver contamination the filters catch the silver chloride. Lot of ways can have left precious metals in the filters thats why everybody save them.
@ayhamhafez2854 місяці тому
Hmmm, I think I lost a lot of gold since I didn't save my filter papers at all, usually I use cotton filter so it take a large space comparing to filter paper. Just to make sure that I understand you well, gold that you got from the scrap filter paper was contaminated with silver chloride, right?
@ogbullion4 місяці тому
@@ayhamhafez285 no. The filter papers incenerated and the silver chloride turned to silver oxide, silver/ or oxide both is soluble in nitric acid, the recovered gold is pritty pure 98-99% the remaining contaminations are possible platinum group metals.

@scrapman5025 місяців тому
one important step you may have left out was after converting the silver chloride to silver metal is to boil the silver in HCL. It will remove more contaminates like tin, and really clean off the rest of the lye and sugar.. It goes from Light grey color to a more silver like color. Much cleaner.

How come you didn't break up the ceramic to get the gold bonding wires inside?
@ogbullion6 місяців тому
There is no bonding wires in this type of cpu. It has a surface mounted silica chip that not connect with bond wires

Here without the sulfuric acid step you get pretty much what everybody gets...
@ogbullion9 місяців тому
These are ceramic CPUs, not soluble in sulphuric acid.
@jackmclane18269 місяців тому
@@ogbullion I know. But then there is also no hazard of losing bond wires suspended in the goopy mess the sulphuric acid/plastic leaves behind. And also those ceramic processors don't have any gold bond wires in them that could get lost.
@jackmclane18269 місяців тому
Either many other youtubers lie about their yields, or your process with the sulfuric acid is very lossy...
@ogbullion9 місяців тому
I lost a lot of gold in the fiber glass mass i made. Ashing and grinding and panning with gold pan probably a better option.

@@ogbullion the reason I asked is that I had almost 10kg BGAs with copper bonding wires and was very surprised by the extremely low yield
@ogbullion9 місяців тому
I remember that video its insane. My first tought that someone separated the valuable BGAs from the non valuable ones(I don't know how) and sold the copper ones. I dont know for sure. But im sure it's not your fault beacuse you have a pritty big knowledg of precious metal recovery from any kind of e-waste.
@GarageBandDad9 місяців тому
You went from Pour off the light ash in a goldpan (What do you do then) to catch stray gold bond wires (do you place these stray gold bond wires back into the concentrate)to Repeat until no ash left only the heavy stuff (is this the consentrate you refer to in following step) to The concentrate washed few times with distilled water Very confusing. Thank you for making the vid though.
