Thanks for the darkmode tip. I'd like to add an observation: At least In my area, literally all known gravel/mtb routes are only visible under "all rides". Filtering for Gravel or MTB is therefore may not always a good idea. I assume most people (including me) use some bike computer that auto-uploads activity under the general ride category.

To be fair NZ number plates are not the best design for clarity and most of your examples , the cars were giving you loads of room , therefore you wouldn’t need the number plate. Any car that’s close enough to have caused you to want to download the video , would be much clearer

Using a 1040 Solar (version 20.19). My sensors seem to disconnect after resuming my ride (from sleep) they usually come back on its own but will usually after 15 minutes of riding.

I received mine last week and I've done about 130km on them so far, gravel and road, and they are amazing. And no squeak. I am never going back to my Garmins.

I am locked out of the App … no customer service … i tried resetting password via email but the App still responded with incorrect credentials … the alarm will not turn off .. very frustrating ,,, removed from bike .. and looking for alternative … the bottom line … you pay for what you get … cheap solution!

To share: after using TPU tubes on road bikes for more than a year, I discovered that these tubes ride significantly better than butyl tubes, only a tad worse than latex tubes and tubeless. When brand new, these TPU tubes are easy to install into the wheels. Unlike butyl and latex tubes, TPU tubes will not shrink back to its original size (tube diameter and tube circumference) once it is deflated from the wheel (for maintenance or otherwise). TPU tube is significantly stretched to the point that it becomes too large to fit back into the wheel. Reinstall TPU tubes will have a lot of creases inside the wheel which lead to puncture upon re-inflation. Hence, it becomes almost impossible to successfully re-install or reuse such tubes. In addition, the patches will only firmly adhere to the TPU tube only after a few hours, this makes patching while out on a ride not realistic. In conclusion, I will only buy cheaper TPU tubes knowing full well that it is a one-time use, and to carry 2x spare TPU tubes (with patches) along during any ride. Hey, it is lighter than butyl tubes.

Sold my wahoo roam 2 for garmin 840... big misstake... it wont let you do your training from tp.. it will not track numbers or actively change during your work out.

I've been waxing for a couple of years. Upsides: Quiet, long component life. Downside: People looking at my chain and saying it needs to be oiled, and in one case, just proactively doing it for me as a favor. Umm, thanks? My method: Clean chain with xylene, then degreaser, then isopropyl or denatured alcohol, then hot dip. Dip is paraffin with PTFE powder. For reapplications between dips I use paraffin wax dissolved in xylene. Just fill a squirt bottle 2/3 with xylene and add a few shavings of wax. Wait a couple of hours. If they dissolve add a couple more shavings. If they dissolve add a little more. Go to the point of a little wax remaining undissolved. Then add a little more xylene and be happy.

When navigating a course, is there a way to get the turn by turn list screen (which lists turns in order and shows distance to end at the bottom) to show up in the mountain bike activity profile? It shows up for me in the gravel profile but not in the mountain bike profile, even if using the same course. This is on an 840.

Hi Shane. Looking at your video when you ride in ERG mode in Zwift. The power number jumps alot, above and below the ERG power value. Exactly the same as for me. Is this normal? I also have a Kickr v5 and ERG is close to 100% perfect in Zwift, it stays solid at the ERG power value without jumping around. Do you know if there will be a fix to the bike shift to correct this, or if this is it? Think ERG now is close to useless in Zwift with Bike Shift. Thanks for any info on this subject

Every video of people doing this cleanly has one thing in common: they are able to pull the jockey wheels back behind the axle. Is there a quick and clean method for when the derailleur doesn't go that far back? For my old bike literally all I have to do is pull the derailleur back and hook the chain on the cassette and push down and everything guides itself into place. On my current bike this method doesn't work and it seems like I only have a few mm of clearance. The best I can do is drop the wheel in behind the derailleur and then lift it up again and hook the chain on to the cassette, it takes 10 seconds but now I'm covered in oil...

@gplama, it would be a great idea to redo this video with the Garmin x40 Edge Series and the Wahoo Bolt and Roam 2. Including, whether they include the climb features and offer more accurate profiles. Doing a couple of these on a 1040 today shows that Climb Pro does activate. The big things for me on a Kickr Bike are how accurate the speed is and how to correct for elevation post-ride in Strava, as the Garmin seems to report no change.
