Thank you for the excellent, simplified description of a complex topic. A couple of takeaways and ideas. I see the correlation between this content and Peter Senge's 5th dicipline. To introduce systems thinking and looking at a company as a living ecosystem. I would have loved to see your next interviewed person to be William Donaldson, the author of the book 'Simple_complexity', and see how he ties all of this together :).

Good innovation, I like it! Personally I like the variety of format. The drawings provides great value added as it helps to link back different elements of the conversation in a global meaningful overview summary. - Also really like this first topic. It did help me to further understand how business architecture can directly support strategic planning. Great information have been said; It would be nice to see this theory applied to a more concrete use case. Continue your good work!

Thanks Alex, for your feedback! I’m glad to hear that you like this format-I’ll keep experimenting with it to see what works best. Regarding the topic, I completely agree. It’s crucial for leaders first to understand the issue, then frame it effectively, and finally, take action. We aim to cover the first two steps through this video, providing both insight and guidance.

I have been going through some of your Videos as part of my journey to operate at the intersection of business and technology. Being mindful about building a personal brand is a key area many professionals ignore. This is my personal favorite video so far. Kudos on the good work and thank you for taking the effort to share your insights

Glad you are able get some ideas and think about building a personal brand. I think nowadays, a the brand will stay with you (even though you might change it over the course of time), even as you switch jobs, professions, or environments.

are models like icons on a car dashboard? not needed to drive the car but alert you to things or give you the ability to view things or use certain features?
@RajRamesh
@RajRamesh 27 днів тому
Yes, you could say that - but whether we actually model things or not, they happen. A model allows us to understand what is happening so we can make it better.
@everythingisfake7555

Your level of thinking is very interesting, but a bit scary because it rips the stability of sequence order from under your feet

Do you have a very simple business architecture template you could share that runs a simple business such as a coffee shop? I just want the highest birds eye view to see what goes where for a simple business to function.
@RajRamesh
@RajRamesh 27 днів тому
I don't have a simple architecture template because that depends on the question you want to ask. If you want to understand how things work, maybe you can start with a process model. If you want to understand how your business is organized, maybe you can use a business model canvas. If you want to understand the capabilities, you can use a capability model - and so on. I'd say you can start out with - "I want to understand how my coffee shop works?" In that case, draw a simple doodle showing a customer, coffee being made, served to the customer, and cash collected. At the backend you might have suppliers from whom you source the coffee, milk, sugar, etc. You might work with coffee machine makers to get your machine, etc. Essentially start small and add to your scope.
@everythingisfake7555
@everythingisfake7555 Місяць тому
i like the other area, im trying to think of something similar for business process to, like an unsorted area that allows you to be task oriented, get things done and worry about defining/identifying the process after. just put it in other so you know it exists and produces and output, you just dont know how it fits to the overall process architecture

@everythingisfake7555
@everythingisfake7555 Місяць тому
this is soooo interesting, I’ve just been thinking about this a lot. I have been researching a lot of the young businessmen that have attained great success in SMMA and other types of social media services, you look at their processes and it is usually just a page with links to no more than ten SOPS. very high level, very simple and a focus on the daily important activities and high reward tasks. when you try complex maps or diagrams that require drawing things can quickly fall apart and are also vulnerable to change. Flowcharts for smaller contained activities make sense, but as you have highlighted, who even knows if a process is sequential? Making breakfast is a process, but is not necessary to do things in a sequential order, like pouring orange juice first or last), but yet you see this type of thing in process maps all the time.
