What time did it start in the end? I was sitting in the grandstand at donington keeping dry and a couple turned up where the bloke said he'd be furious if cadwell got any racing in that day as it seemed to be the wife's idea to leave there and come to Donny..... Amazed either meeting got off at all tbh, perseverance pays off sometimes
@PescaraProductions12 днів тому
Started on time. Ran until about half 10 I think and then they decided to stop for about 2 hours. Most people lost a race. I understand at Donington they were doing the usual of bending all sorts of parameters to get in done in time. Feel for anyone that went Donington, at least at Cadwell a roof over your head isn't far away. Donington you can FORGET IT 😂
@cdname4712 днів тому
@@PescaraProductions I headed to the only covered grandstand and it was the best decision I ever made haha It was either that or hiding under the bit of Starkey's bridge that's left. Yeah we didn't get going until 1pm or something but it was fun when we did. Minis and legends especially as well as the Btcc of course Radicals I could do without but hey there's always one weak link I did try taking some videos and might knock something together like the good old days....but who has the time these days.... I get Friday by the time this is all done and that's usually taken up by planning and plotting and scheming for the next one. And even then they try to shut you down

I was the flag marshal on post 2 (entry of Charlies) and we couldnt see what was happening but we were glued to the radio waiting for updates. That just shows the magic of adrenaline and why these karts don't use seatbelts. The weather wasn't helpful, even on posts we were getting water in the boots with very little cover from the rain.
@PescaraProductions12 днів тому
Unfortunately that is the issue with the way you sit in a superkart, you have to be lucky to be thrown clear. Its probably greater odds than it was with pre war machinery where you sat less in it, than on top of it. Along with circuit drainage and tarmac access roads, marshalls I do think should have a much bigger hut for you all to sit in. Maybe with a hairdryer wired up to the wall. Slight investment to general wellness of people attending could really done with being applied.
@DatHuski12 днів тому
@@PescaraProductions I will say Cadwell has some of the better posts of the circuits I've been to in the past, the Saturday weather was alright it was the Sunday that was the kicker but we cant always predict the great British weather! That superkart accident looked horrendous. I was at Donington for BTCC and saw Webster in the Mini Challenge have a big one coming down the craners. Car got sideways, dug into mud and rolled quite violently multiple times. He got out straight away though which was great to see 👍
@PescaraProductions13 днів тому
Yeah wasn't a nice one to watch it was quite a welcome surprise to see him up that quick! I know there was a particularly nasty one in Legends at Donington but didn't know about the minis? They could do with sorting that mud out, the usually squeaky clean Palmer tracks have seemingly been left to their own devices a bit this year. Seems that every now and then you get a weekend full of nasty crashes
@TheRedhillwolf13 днів тому
@@PescaraProductions I was surprised the superkart guy got up so quick as well mate. Very good stuff. You’re right about getting a weekend every now and then with nasty shunts and it appears it was the one just gone. The mini one was on Saturday so wasn’t filmed but the mud on the outskirts of the craners is really sketchy and me and my dad were saying that if a car goes off sideways it could be a hefty shunt. The weather was fine on Saturday but the mud still a big issue because the ground is just too soft. On Sunday though it was appalling, whole morning cancelled due to essentially a flooded Donington circuit. Managed to get most of the racing done tho, hats off to the Marshalls big time.
@PescaraProductions13 днів тому
@TheRedhillwolf it's rather ironic that they had spent a load of money on sorting the drainage to a degree, but it's still pretty bad. I felt for the spectators. That track is an inaccessible nightmare for every meeting that's NOT something major like BTCC and even then it's still bad. The UK venues need investment, but it seems as though Mr Palmer is putting his money in Europe instead
