I find it interesting to hear the statistics on trends, but I’m wondering if that’s more a reflection of YC and its preferences or the amount of developers % applying and the founders preferences (e.g., 70% funded are ‘AI’ companies vs 8% in 2020). It is interesting to hear advisors surprised by the numbers they directly selected.

I had read about his work in some form of amygdala removal. That right side of our amygdala is where (strong) fears come from. I am wondering is he ever had that procedure done on himself? I research a few others that went through the procedure and they hd an increased level of calm in their lives. They normally only performed the procedure on epileptic people, but for trauma CPTSD survivors I hope that can change one day. I figured since her was researching this.. and money can buy anything... he might have done this in some way.

Oh, I see, replacing math and logic with stats & approximations. What is going on? Speed to deliver can have very bad results

I like your video series but lately not appreciating the full 20 mins of sarcasm and condescendence with laughter.... It just doesn't teach or prove anything but the fact that you feel really smart about yourself.

Passion for an area of my expertise? I have little ambition to raise capital, until I can demonstrate my idea, that will then excite others.

If you can't match the passion of the users in your space, or at least jive with it, there's gonna be a problem.

This may feel obvious but it's worth saying... all of this advice applies to TECH startups. They made this point in the 'do you need a technical co-founder' video, not sure why they missed it here.

The only metric you need is revenue.

From 4:43 to 5:03, everything holds true (at least for me). As a young founder (22 years old), I can honestly say that B2B doesn't excite me. Let's put money aside for a moment; I see money more as a reward for achievements. The primary reason I don't enjoy B2B is that only a few people around us benefit (obviously, the people mentioned here are highly profitable to us). On the other hand, with consumer ideas (no offense, definitely not those mentioned at 3:37), many people benefit from what I do (like my neighbor walking down the street, my barber, my doctor, and anyone else not in the tech job, etc.), and that brings me a sense of self-satisfaction. Of course, I wouldn't claim to make the world a better place for free; I'll definitely charge for my services (but I'm not greedy). Anyway, I'm eagerly waiting for my application to be selected. 😊

Universal Functions are an interesting angle. One it implies that the overall physical abstraction is move involved in the abstraction rather than the calculation itself. Two, it implies there is a system of prediction based on same arrangement of understanding that is hidden in those layers. Three, would be a mixture between one and two. Main issue here outside of readied prediction would be finding some method of decomposition to gain access to those insights via some plain text mapping system. This would allow such to be auditable and avoid some sneaky maligned issues possible when rely on a black box prediction model.

If Germany only had sth like YC it would be great but sadly here the investors do not seem to understand the startup culture and market at all
@ErikBjareholt2 дні тому
The German government is the root of the problem. You wouldn't want to start a startup in Germany in the first place, given their laws and bureaucracy.

Thanks for the talk. I had to make the video a podcast because the white fuzzy thing in Craig's hair kept distracting me. 🤨

Indeed, funding for a prototype is perhaps the most difficult thing for hard tech startups to find. At JetSoftPro, a software development service, we call it "pay for what you don't have". However, the right brief, conducted research and development phase can be a game changer!

For making this kind of software there is something very important. It is necessary to setup simple but clever system before AI start making decisions inside of it and that could fit to all internal company systems no matter manufacturing or service. And this is exactly what we are developing. 🫡

Almost a decade later, Musk and Altman (the interviewer ) are locked in a public spat and looming legal battle that revolves around the end of their previous partnership and OpenAI’s creation of a for-profit subsidiary now valued at $80bn. Musk filed a suit against OpenAI in a California court last week, alleging that Altman and other executives had “breached the founding agreement” of the company by pursuing private commercial success instead of working to benefit humanity. Elon is the good guy for sure.
