Agreed . Nothing like looking into an open fire . Seeing the little sparks fly the way the wood burns. I was lucky enough as a child to have a grandad who worked the coal mines so we had constant fuel for our inside open fire. I spent ours upon ours in front of that thing watching how the soot on the fire back lit up like stars in a galaxy and blinking out again after a little while. This taught me more about the meaning of time and the impermanence of it than any school lesson. Thank you grandad Bert . You died too young after a hard life.
