Modern tech values flashiness over common sense. Its not just apple that forgot the size of the average human hand. My wife's phone died last year and she was using a pixel 3a. She didn't like any of the new phones because they were all way too big. She finally settled on a Galaxy S23 because it was the smallest phone at the store. I also miss the old fingerprint reader that just works. Now we my pixel has a face ID which is useless in the moderately dark areas or while wearing a face mask and in screen fingerprint readers which are useless if you put a screen protector on your phone and are overall less accurate and harder to reach. My pixel 4a just turned on when i picked it up because my finger naturally slots into the fingerprint reader when i held it. It's a shame tech companies are charging us tons of money for AI chips, giant phone screens, and glass backs when all we want is good battery life and gmail.
