This is a big and positive deal in my opinion. If this gets us past the bone-crunching soul-sucking memory leaks SQLDev is notorious for that alone makes this a very good idea. ("No offense Java" - really ; OMG you're awesome. ) SQL Dev has always been the prettiest and most native Oracle SQL client ; its popularity and utility precipitated said leaks. Every time I hear a toad croak at work I reflexively stomp so I am a fan of this direction. Will it / does it have any distinctive competency i.e. something you can 'Only do in SQL Dev Extension for VS Code' ? Also does VS Code run on Ubuntu desktop and will this extension ?
