Oh, you have also now sparked my curiosity to learn celestial navigation. You've got me thinking about spherical trigonometry! Great job.

Here's an anecdote regarding seeing the stars from a new perspective. The first time I used a night vision scope on a clear night for search and rescue, I happened to glance up at the sky. There are countless stars in the darkness that become visible with some light amplification far more than are visible with the naked eye. It was utterly awe inspiring, and extremely tempting to keep looking, rather than the far more pressing issue of searching the water surface for a lost boat.

Comprehensive, thanks! Could you spell out sometime how photons losing momentum would result in a blurrier image? It’s kind of a side point for this topic, but it doesn’t seem obvious to me why it’s true.
@driverjeff14989 годин тому
Not sure how it's a paradox. We are not emitting any light from earth and there is nothing for it to reflect off of

Interesting, I shall watch the rest of the series. As a matter of interest, who or what is the figure laying face-down at 21:10 , and what is he/she doing there?

I find it very interesting that the _only_ people who seem to have a gripe with the whole Pluto thing are Americans . . . get over it . . . you're not special.

Hubble constant and big bang and relativity solves this nicely, but I will continue watching anyways.

Reflection is key. Unfortunately, the majority of mankind is simple incapable of it. Beyond that, most will run out of their most precious resource well prior to coming anywhere near the idea of True Enlightenment. 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨ "Before I start, I must see my end. Destination known, my mind’s journey now begins. Upon my chariot, heart and soul’s fate revealed. In time, all points converge, hope’s strength resteeled. But to earn final peace at the universe’s endless refrain, We must see all in nothingness... before we start again." 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨ -- Diamond Dragons (book I)

Great video as always but you have misunderstood a thing. The beep sound in the Apollo communications are called a Quindar tone and was used to switch between transmission modes on the tracking network, not as a kind of "over" signal. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quindar_tones

This is epic timing. I’ve been saving up for her text book and it just arrived yesterday! Are you eventually going to combine all the videos into a playlist? I’m really excited and looking forward to going through this with you!

I’m likely going to leave them as individual videos. But there is a playlist where I will put them all. ukposts.info/slow/PLyu4Fovbph6cX6Sv4DuLFbZxPv16M-0Om&si=BA_nEWJKrOjSdbDU

Great observational clips of Lunar Eclipses Professor ! It's encouraging me to get out there. Especially after some modifications to my small Newtonian. Threw a true Parabolic Mirror in 114 mm, added a Dual Speed GSO Focuser that can accept 2 in. eyepieces, added small tracking motor, revamped Finderscope, Celestrons 114 EQ Astromaster improved ! I would like to inquire if you has yet tried the "Oculars", "Plug In", in Stellarium it has really helped me select Eyepiece and with redesign for Planet viewing. If not I would encourage giving it a try. I notice there is a bit more fuzzyness than my scope actually has on Jupiter and Saturn. I look forward to trying a 2.3 mm Wide Eyepiece f/ Celestron and a better than stock Secondary Mirror as fortune allows me. Cheers! Clear Skies! Unfortunately for me I'm in PNW and go off others observations throughout most of the yr. except for a couple months of the yr. Probably nothing short of amazing I would continue to opt. to Major in Physics!

Dr. Kendall. Just wondering about the M&E Design of such Experiments and a skill in Design / Documentation will prove useful. It is handed off to Engineers at some point ? I hold kind of a rare amount of formal instruction in Mech 4 yrs HS + 2 yrs Deg. +13 yrs Contracting, I'd hate to see it go to waste and never use it again entirely. Some cool stuff in wiring and mech now.
