Thats a strange title for an academic speech, eg including "war of aggression" in the title before establishing any facts. Sounds like knowingly feeling guilty that the opposite is true. Which is what the evidence shows: eg US in the 1990's committed to Russia that Ukraine would NOT be accepted into NATO, hence Russia's naval base on Crimea could remain there. Then, US tries to get Ukraine into NATO (orange revolution). So if something like that happened to the US, eg China anexes South Korea, closes US naval bases, if US fights to keep naval bases who would you say was the aggressor? And Russia's position is worse than that.

Only non-Hindus would believe India is a "collection of states" when from Kanyakumari to Kashmir we celebrate the same scriptures, which refer specifically to India's geography. American mistakes? First, Ukraine didn`t take the Russians seriously enough.Second, Europe didn`t take Putin seriously.Even after he annexed Crimea and took a fifth of Ukraine. Our biggest mistake is not demanding Europe to pay more for their own defense.The GDP of Europe is on par with the USA and we have many commitments around the world.Seventy years ago it was the USA`s job that we should pay the lion`s share and lead in NATO because Europe was shattered. But Europe has recovered over the decades and they should do some leading of their own.A few years ago their biggest threat (they thought) was climate change, so they decided sending Putin 100`s of billions of Euros for cheap "clean burning" natural gas. Ukraine deserves to be governed by themselves and we can be a part of that. But the threat to Europe, because of the invasion, must start to be recognized by Europeans and they should start paying for it.

The question: „is it already too late to win the war” was so stupid. It reminds me of the argument made buy climat change deniers that initially made an argument that climat change is not real and they refuse to do anything about it and after years of delays on necesary policy they now claim that its too late nothing can be done so why bother. Thats the vibes i’m getting from this guy. We do everything to delay and do as little as possible just to declare that it is pointless to do anytjing because it is too late. What kind of „problem solving” are we talking about if shmucks like this guy want to do a half assed job just to give up trying harder because they see no results. The problem i see is some people in the West focusing on Ukraine not loosing too much and holding on hoping Putin will stop at some point when we should be helping Ukraine win this war.

In my opinion not enough was done to keep Ukraines initial momentum. Upon entering Ukraine and making some progress Ukrainians very quickly coubteratacks and started rapidly pushing Russians out and literally chasing them. That was the moment that aid had to be intensified as Russians were nit dug in yet. They were surprised and unprepared for such resistance. Western allies should have reacted when Russia blew up the damb and flooded a hudge part of the frontline shortening the part they would have to dig into and defend. There was allot of talk but very litle action. Everyone litterally delayed sending aid. When the weapons arrived it was too litle too late. Russians have dug in and reinforced three levels of trenches and mines, dragon teath, barbed wire etc. Without air support atacking such lines in the steppes was suicyde ( Google Ukrainian steppe and look at immages to understand what i am talking about). Musk turned off starlnk bought by Ukrainians sabotaging Ukrainians war wffort with no consultation with US governemnt, and recently we witneses MTG and MAGA drag on pointless negotiations to deliberatly delay aid to Ukraine onowing well from briefings that by february Ukraine will have no air defence capabilities. Speaker Johnson eventually pushed the legislation threw but the damadge was done.
