Here's the progression: 2015: Can I build a onewheel at home? 2016: Can I build a onewheel cheaper than a pint. 2017: Can I make tutorials so everyone can build a cheap onewheel at home? 2018: Can I build a Onewheel to compete with an XR 2019: Can I make an easy DIY kit for an XR comparable onewheel 2023: Can we make a onewheel that feels like an XR but is more powerful than a GT GTS but also cheaper than a GTS? Unfortunately the last one isn't cheap, but you can be creative. If you have a 3d printer you can build the front and rear boxes for free almost, get cheap XR rails, get a superflux and a vesc..vescs range from 150 to 500 USD. Battery can be built or reused if you're brave.

thermal paste is not required. the thermal conductivity is so good that we don't need thermal paste for onewheels.

@@jernejfajdiga322 I came from pc, where if there isn’t thermal paste between the cpu and heat sink the computer will blue screen. Where I like to ride (ambient 90-100F, uphill) I want to have all the thermal conductivity headroom I can get.

From my experience on Thor300 and superflux HT the HT will overheat before Thor300. (Thor300 is lid mounted without thermal paste).

@@jernejfajdiga322 I am wondering if they are using Silicon carbide for power electronics! When the GT came out riding on 90f ambient would overheated the motor easily, I was thinking they needed heat pipe to pull heat out of the stator faster. I hope next generation superflux comes with better thermal solutions. I don’t see company innovating on that.

@@wayofflow955 Haha If you can overheat superflux HT then congrats. I tested it on all steepest hill that I found and no success on overheating it 🤣
