He was also playing out of position a ton to plaster over a bunch of other holes. He spent significant time basically as an ILB. If the rest of the Steelers defense stays healthy and he can focus on what he does best he’ll have a monster 2024

Let’s be honest, if the Steelers thought he was worth much more than that, then they would have picked up his 5th year option by now (to save money). Now I don’t think it’s fair to judge his production as solely his fault considering he has had an awful o line, awful QB’s, and possibly the worst OC of all time to work with, but he is a slower bigger RB, and those types don’t get paid like the the faster shifter guys. I personally believe Najee brings a LOT to the team though, but it is a style of play that is not heavily sought after in the modern era. I think a 4.5-6 mil/year 3 year extension that’s mostly guaranteed is reasonable, or maybe a 7-8 mil/year deal that is largely incentive based. Regardless, I highly doubt he gets much more than that, even if he leaves Pittsburgh.

Kwon's always been spotty with injuries and he's another year older/another year riskier. Holcomb looks to be coming back; along with Queen, Elandon and Robinson they'll have a solid rotation.

He's probably going to be playing a lot more FB this year, and flanking the diamond formation.
