I see some Volvo components in there. I'm sure Volvo/Geely has helped them out with the parts pertaining to manufacturing a "regular car", things like access to the supply chain, manufacturing know-how, etcetera. And then Lotus themselves focus on what they do best. These types of partnerships can work really well. On the flipside, I think Lotus is helping out Polestar with aluminum bonding in their next EV grand tourer. Seems to be a productive relationship.

Hopefully door handles make a return…or at least show up on electric cars. Any trade offs weren’t worth it. Same with hvac controls and the buttons you use daily, happily not only on a screen.

Lotus is doomed. They can't figure out electronics but they are convinced that's their path forward. There are multiple people in my area having a blast driving street legal SxS UTVs with no windows or AC. Why can't Lotus figure out that market? They could build an awesome AWD 4 cylinder on/off road machine. All the features that make their GT cars seem like poor quality would be eliminated.

I considered purchasing a Emira to replace my Supra, until I went on the owner’s forums. The number of issues that are arising are surprising and definitely turned me off. I think Geely kind of had a negative affect on Lotus. Keeping my Supra, and either getting a G80 M3 or IS500.

It’s a beautiful car, but. I’m so over having a sports car that has issues. There are to many options out there now where you don’t have to deal with little problems all of the time. Then again, I have owned several Porsche’s and had many similar issues, I would never own one again. Interesting that you stated that the Porsche engine was more reliable than a Toyota engine, I don’t agree with that at all. Maybe the added super charger changes it, but I’m not sure. Loved the video and itching to take mine to the track. Agreed on it giving way to understeer much more readily than the Porsche despite double wishbone up front Sport suspension surprisingly compliant and is great for canyon carving and driving around town. Touring too soft and gives up too much front end sharpness. Agreed on it being fun even when driving slow.
