Which is the translation of this reading please?

We use Bryan Doerries' translation, which can be found in All That You've Seen Here Is God www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/217976/all-that-youve-seen-here-is-god-by-translated-by-bryan-doerries/

When I was growing up in the early 60’s and going to a Catholic school, we were often taught moral lessons through stories such as this and I found myself looking to learn , from habit, from patient Griselda’s humbleness and her unassuming attitude towards her husband. Her love for him causing her to deny her own needs and always putting him first. This is in direct contrast to Margaret Atwood’s story of the two parts of Griselda that we see in so many families today. Griselda today has two parts warring against each other, one wanting to take care of her husband and children while the other Griselda is seeking to appease her own desires for love, recognition, and her own ambitions. This is the war every woman fights in today’s society. If we sacrifice to take care of our families the world only overlooks our efforts as laziness, or uselessness, while if we chase our own desires the litany of crass names and other judgements as Atwood listed, can be expected to be thrown our way. As families break, children are lost, and households crumble the effective ways to resolve these issues continue to escape us. Will we ever manage to help each other find ways to keep our families intact or will impatient Griselda continue to eat the problems that get in her way?

I've listened to the amazing KPR interview twice and visited with this author on his front porch and I have to wonder, what is the point of people reading the book. I guess it's just not for me, but I hope it does not deter anyone from listening to John's interviews, watching the documentary Vietnam, or reading the book.

I Love His characters in movies. I think he is a great actor...but until he pulls off that talisman from his neck... I feel Keith is acting his greatest performance right here. At 26:30 min in he mentions one of the BIGGEST roadblocks to the liberation, yet the remaining obstacle is the word play... There are no Black or White people. What I see in many Country's across the Plane are Indigenous people ill affected by Foreigners, colonializing under the name of a Religion or a Political framework. Anyone with access to Google Search would not be so willing to wear a symbol which is documented for having caused all types of turmoil and loss of life in the name of GOD, regardless of anyone's personal conviction. Sorry, not sure how to take this...Put some Money where the Mouth is to all who subscribe to such religious or political dogma.

Both the performance of Frederick Douglass's prophetic perspective and the response by panel and community are motivating, informative, and powerfully relevant. Thank you for offering this openly like this.
