Brilliant teardown. Thank you so much. Interesting point is that Garmin are producing dozens of different lines and models of smart watches in a few case sizes. It is mind boggling to shop for a watch in the Garmin because of this. It would be amazing to have a reference chart that shows the various chipsets in them to compare. The pricing of these watches ranges from $300 to over $1,000 US and it would be a fun treat to find out that the cheap ones have the same chips as the expensive ones! Makes me wonder.

Hi... Your audience is mostly and probably others who needs to tear down the same model. Then it could be good to mention the size of screws. No after just minute of talking a notice this and will not continue.

This is a great video, but just like dozens of others there is no real world applications that they are referenced to otherwise it's the same old description. The first one who does a video that shows the multiple applications of op-amps how they're used in the circuit what in the circuit is used to control it and what hardware outside the circuit is ithe nput and output from the op amp wins the prize. All op amp videos I have seen begin beyond the beginner stage and many are lost in what their real world applications are. 8:45

would like to change a incandescent scoreboard to a LED....is that possible?
@LandMineFX
@LandMineFX 2 дні тому
For some reason, I'm having issues with pwm when connecting the LED side to an Arduino, and the transistor side to a guitar signal in a PC817 optocoupler. Any attempt to adjust the brightness of the internal LED introduces noise into the signal unless the LED is all the way off or all the way on. Wonder why?

curious. A home audio device had a electrolytic cap fail after only 8 years. (bulging on top) Looked in my junk drawer for a replacement. 1000uf, 10v. Found one that was 30+ years old. It was about 3 times as large, but easy to install. Measures and works perfectly. Did the first one fail because they tried to squeeze it into a smaller case?
@bald_engineer
@bald_engineer 2 дні тому
Electrolytics have gotten smaller over time because the foil etching process, aluminum purity, and electrolytes has improved over time. It failed because either it was at the end of its operational life, the design was bad, or the cap wasn't manufactured well. Billions of capacitors made each year. Not all of them work flawlessly.

i'm confused little bit , do we use two RPI pico W or just one with the spaghetti box one ?
@123DragonHeart
@123DragonHeart 2 дні тому
The Pico W is used in the new node that controls the windows, while the spaghetti box node is running on an Arduino MKR1000 WiFi, since I will upgrade that node in the future. Pico W can be used for both nodes and MQTT in the same way it was used in the new node.

Switching mode is better but not efficient at all and liners is worsts switching mode as far as I can see have a 60 person losses igbt welder or smps power supply have very high leases I test a Toshiba supply the mains amps was 22amp 120 and the output voltage was 15v 55 amp see the big losses
@bald_engineer
@bald_engineer 3 дні тому
How you can say "switching mode is better but not efficient at all." Switch mode converters are over 90% efficient. Linears literally burn heat. They are incredibly inefficient. I cannot understand the rest of your comment.

8:20 No, an electric field can indeed exist without an magnetic field, and vice versa. The time term in Maxwells 3. and 4. equations just tells you than when one field is changed over time, the other is induced.

Simply put it, in a n channel jfet, you increase the negative reverse bias gate voltage. - vgs . In a p channel jfet, you increase the positives reverse bias gate voltage, + vgs.
@m101ist
@m101ist 6 днів тому
Simply put it, the difference is, vgs reverse bias voltage, decreases current flow, and the higher vds, in increases the current flow.

I have Kawai CN31 piano. It gives no sound. I have checked the capacitors on sound amplifier of my digital piano and got the following results in ESR levels. I used the peak ATLAS ESR70 gold. 10000 uF 25V - ESR 0.01 ohm - uF reading 8811uF 2200 uF 25V - ESR 0.02 ohm- uF reading 2015uF 470 uF 10V - ESR 0.20 ohm- uF reading 479uF 100 uF 25V - ESR 0.43 ohm- uF reading 98uF 47 uF 16V - ESR 0.64 ohm- uF reading 50uF 10 uF 16V - ESR 1.01 ohm- uF reading 11uF 1 uF 50V - ESR 1.10 ohm- uF reading 0.98uF I am especially suspicious about theIr results for 10 micro and 1 micro F. They should be around 8 and 5 respectively. Do these results mean that I need to change the 10 micro and 1 micro D capacitors? Thanks for your replies. Tan
