How much would it have been price-wise to replace it with a new part? Just curious! Sincerely! R.S.V.

If I missed it I’m sorry but what are you running? Fabshield 21b? … if so what size and setting. I Have a project (a big one) going to run some 1/16 fab21 and Settings I’m getting to work are way off recommended.
@ICWeld19 годин тому
The suggested settings for the wire may be off a bit due to the length of your welding leads. You kinda have to find a range that works for your specific setup. I think i'm around 22V and from 150-230 inches per minute with .045 wire. I really dont watch the actual settings. I go by feel most times.

Good job as usual. I caught mine before the tapered holes were damaged. It's good to see it done once in case I ever need to do the same. Thanks guys.

Another great video. Well done. Ran out of yellow paint ??? Most of your jobs are yellow. You should have a case of that stuff. Boy Scouts say "Be Prepared". My boss was fussy. He would raise hell about that.

Have them buy another one.

Not bad he says, most guys couldn't cut that straight with a saw.

I'm fascinated by craftsmanship, I can watch a guy with skills do just about anything. I would pay money to hang out with these 2, can you imagine the stuff you'll learn.

Wonder if the crane operator is watching your UKposts videos ??

Always amazed by the cutting power of a gas torch. Just glad I'll never be a tank driver. Looks like a use case for inventing some kind of internal bore rotating torch cutter that could have cut those inside shoulder welds free from within the tubular pipe.

That is afrigginmazing! I still work outside on all the junk equipment and dump trucks fixing them and welding them and now at night I go to school again and watch my teacher and learn the right way to repair even the most ugly damage. Thank you Mr. Teacher. I'm glad Scrappy told me to watch and see how the best do it.
@medcon85День тому
You make me see how weak and feeble I am at cutting and welding! That was artwork .I am glad Scrappy mentioned your channel on one of his videos. I am going to be learning how real welders do it now! Thank you and becareful out there.

While it's there, why not check the rest of the trailer for cracked or broken welds. I'm sure your customer would appreciate that and it would add to your video..... much like a mechanic looks for other problems, with your car.

Your cautious approach to expose the interface edges is excellent in avoiding all of the pitfalls created by the original construction being different than that needed for the repair welds. The wisdom of experience over assumption. The fatigue failure at the broken end of the trunnion is due to the bending stresses at the weld. To avoid this problem the new trunnion would better being solid rather than tubular. But I guess they supplied a new tube to match the existing to save time instead of making an improvement.

Designers be like: may be we think better and make there a solid axle to be replaced easy? No-no, we dont play this way! Let us make some difficulties for IC Weld! We must design a thick tube, weld inside out in 24 dimensions! Yeah, we are great designers!
@gordjohnson703 дні тому
Nice welding. You make it look easy. You should be able to see the blind side by looking thru the cab window. Perhaps the cab could be removed by the mechanic, if necessary. Thumbs up.

I was called a troll for saying this is easier than you'd think. It is cool, but when you learn it, it really seems more like a drill.

Issac I work with a man that is a lot like you here in Wichita Falls and men like you are an absolute goldmine. I help him work on my equipment when it’s something to in-depth for me to handle by myself. He’s very patient and methodical like you and I feel like I’d be lost without him. He’s 66 and about to retire so I’m trying to learn everything from him lol. Once the older experienced and wise men like y’all are gone we’re kinda screwed. Keep making videos and showing your son and the other younger generation the way of true American builders. God bless my friend!

I'm a marine mechanic and marine manifold have a dry side and a wet side and when they freeze and crack they also crack on the inside were you can't even see. So after you fix the outside you have to pressure test the manifold to see if you have a leak on the inside that cannot be repaired because it is on the inside. So after paying the welder to fix it and the time to test it, it's just as cost efficient to buy a new lower manifold and it's also piece of mind that a week or a month or a year from now the crack that never got found inside let's go and it roasts the motor. No thanks. Not to take anything away from this guy's skills. But if someone wants me to do this they can just find someone else to do because I won't.

Thank you for the input. I was unaware of such a thing when I originally repaired this. I will know from this point forward, I appreciate these types of comments. We learn everyday.
