How can you not remember Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II when hearing this beautiful piece of music.

This single player arrangement is beautiful and clear and much needed. Tells us so much about the piece! But how dare you replace the harp with a piano!

I just noted that QEII and Marilyn Monroe were born in the same year and that QEII died 60 years after Marilyn's passing. Two different and remarkable women. RIP

Elizabeth was a wonderful example of grace and duty. My mom looked so much like her. They were the exact same age. She was told often of the resemblance. I loved it.

for someone who wrote a violin concerto mainly because he didn't much like the ones other people had written (a sentiment I tend to share which is one reason I haven't written one) this is a pretty nice effort -- the slow movement is at times mesmerisingly beautiful.

She was my Queen, she was and is all I had ever known, and now she is gone. And now we enter an age where 3 Kings are guaranteed, Charles 3, William 5th, George 7th. I suppose the proudest moment for me was when King Charles the 3rd and Queen consort Camilla stepped from their car after the Queens was deceased and went to greet the assembled crowd outside Buckingham Palace, and shared their grief and emotions and congratulations on Charles becoming King, a step which no royal before them had ever taken, such a gigantic step forward for the monarchy and one which I wonder if we'll ever see again. The King has come of age and I hope he can lead us well. Long live the King.

When queen Victoria died, her grandchildren quarrelled and we ended up entering into some of the most brutal wars the earth has ever seen. Now HM QEll has passed on, her grandchildren quarrel, we face global unrest and we are arguably on the brink of WW3. I miss the Elizabethan age so much already.

Elizabeth II's death should remind us why monarchy is helpful, in general. Monarchy shouldn't be used as real-life soap opera, nor as mere material to fill space in the media. The achievement of the British monarchy should become clearer in comparison with the histories of other countries. In the 19th & 20th centuries the U.S.A, France, Germany, Russia, Italy, Spain and Greece suffered in various ways civil wars, political storms, and dictatorships. This shows what can go wrong in the absence of a head of state which is above politics, and which opposes illegal dictatorship. If there are many reasons England, Wales, and Scotland have had no civil war since Culloden in 1746, having a constitutional monarchy to unify all the people is an important reason. In the UK, 'peace' in formal speech is "The King's Peace". Of course Prince Andrew must disappear from public life; King Charles III's first marriage was a tragic mistake; Prince Philip could be tactless. Whatever mistakes the royal family have made, let us be grateful for the unity the monarchy gives in the UK & the world. By stabilizing Britain & the commonwealth (e.g. Canada & Australia), it promotes peace in the world. The sea around it didn't protect the U.S.A. against civil war in the 1860s, and the UK could have suffered civil war over slavery in the 19th century; likewise over world war, loss of empire, economic failure, or race in the 20th. There will always be violence and political problems in the world, and billions of people who know or understand nothing of the British monarchy and the stability it brings. Since the 1700s, billions of people have lived under the British crown without civil war, lynching, dictatorship in their lives. God save King Charles III, and his successors.

I truly fear for the future of our monarchy now that wonderful lady has sadly departed. Not a foot wrong in 70 years of duty to all of us and the nation. OK, Phillip made the odd gaffe. Look at what we now have. A king who meddles in politics with a dodgy history. A Prince of Wales who panders to popular culture. If only Princess Anne had been born first we would be in safer hands.

this was the first song radio 2 played after she died. followed by 2 more classical compositions and resumed music with words with "Make You Feel My Love" by Adele (also the last song Heart and Virgin Radio played before she died). the days following, the station was more focused on mellow selections until they slowly resumed regular programming the day after her funeral.
