We saw the return of THE band Babymetal, who is a bona fide heavyweight in metal music, and the the birth of Metalverse, then called Chibi Metal, who is killing it with their song "Crazy J". A shot where Moametal and Sakiametal was goosebump inducing, seeing them both with a smile was wonderful, but when Su-Metal and Mikometal were singing together, my mind was officially and totally blown. Plus, the smile on Mikometal's face was the cherry on the sundae. I know Babymetal is going to do well as always, I wish nothing but the best for Metalverse. Anthony Barone is fucking awesome. This whole show is just should be impossible, but here it is. Before I kick the bucket and talk to the great Fox God in the sky, I'd love to get to go to one of these big arena shows where they just go absolutely wild. The girls are all awesome, and have paved a road for women in rock, and especially younger women. But the current Kami Band, aka Galactic Empire, they're incredible. Anthony is doing overtime on drums and I was floored at how sick he was when I saw him live a few weeks ago. Finding out he was like 24 was a kick in the balls to my confidence as a 39 year old drummer, like I have to give 110% to pull of these parts, and I'm not sure how I'd handle being in front of a sold out rabid crowd. TL;DR - if you have the chance to see Babymetal live, do it. Even if it requires selling your kidney, it's worth it.
