Dear Professor Alex, thank you very much for this video, in addition to learning, I find the intention of guiding people who are interested in immigrating to Canada very useful and very noble. I know you are an immigrant and that is why you know how difficult it can be. In my case I lived in Venezuela and due to the political and economic situation I had to emigrate to Colombia, and life is very difficult. Thank you for this video that motivates me to keep trying. Thanks to the guest. Blessings.

What nobody will tell you is that Canada is almost bunkrupted. You will only find a job at McDonald's and live in a basement at best.

Thank you and the lady for that information Alex. I think one of these days I'm gonna go to the Canada Embassy in my country and ask for more information about it. 👍.

Hello, thanks for this video. My husband and I are retired so we have enough money to live on. If we wanted to change our place of residence and emigrate to Canada, it would be possible or rather impossible. If it were possible, it would be simpler or more complicated than in the situations mentioned in the video. 🙋🙂
@MyImmigrationCanada11 годин тому
Thanks for your comment! It really depends on your particular situation. If you have family in Canada already, that may be an option for you. If you are retired you may not be eligible for streams under the Express Entry programs, but I would suggest visiting the IRCC link in the description to see if you believe you meet any of the eligibility and if you have further questions please reach out!

If you are the son or the daughter of Jeff Bezos is it the same way or you can get a visa more easely ? Is it the same for french people if they want to come and work in Montreal or Quebec for example ? I remember in 2008 something like that, I asked for a working holiday visa for the Canada. I am from France, it was easy to get it because the number available was high compared with the level of people asking for. Today that will be very difficult because a lot of people try to get those kind of visa. I did not take the visa in 2008, I moved in Uk and worked 4 years there. It was a really good experience and my level of english is far more better than it was at school.

French speakers will have a language advantage in Quebec, including having access to a wider variety of jobs in the province, but immigration approvals are granted at the federal, not the provincial level. Based on my understanding, there are some provincial programs which allow Quebec to select potential immigration candidates, but the approval must still come from the federal offices. Here is an example: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/quebec-skilled-workers.html

@@engvidAlex Thank you Alex for your videos and for this video. I am sure that's going to help people to understand more about the proccess. I have no plan to move out of France today, I am good in France but I like to carry on to learn english in any topics. And your videos on you tube are really good. We are lucky today because we have a lot of contents to progress in any languages on you tube. Thank you for the time Jen took it.

Hi Alex, that was advanced usage of second conditional. It is application of it in real life speeches and conversations. But wait Alex, seeing beyond ourselves, I opined that not just our but next generation deserves to benefit from this your wealth of knowledge resources. I suggest you put the contents of this class and others in book form. So that families, house holds & generations can have access to them. God bless you & yours. -Apostle Moses

Is it still worth it immigrating to Canada, considering the increase in criminality and cost of living crisis?
@engvidAlex16 годин тому
It's a tough decision that everyone has to make for themselves. Because it's such a massive country, there are plenty of safe areas to live in despite the overall increase in crime stats. The cost of living is a major issue affecting many nations at the moment, and Canada isn't immune to it. Housing in particular is unaffordable or very expensive for many people, and it's something a potential immigrant has to research and think about carefully, as with any major life decision. This would be a good question to explore in a future video, as this video is strictly concerned with the application process, not with the economic and cultural conditions of Canada. I hope I've been able to answer your question satisfactorily.
@GustavoDiaz9317 годин тому
What about the totalitarian government you have with Justin Trudeau? If you care about you and your family avoid migrating to the most “woke” country.

The problem with these ideas that native speakers don't understand that this is waaaaaaay too much information for a beginner student. You must only use present simple DO / DOES, IS / ARE, and at a latter time use CAN and drill it with dozens of questions and repeat it with different words at least 3-4 more times. Get the students to keep asking you the same type of questions and it gets memorized easier. If a student is at the point of trying to learn and understand yes-no questions, the above video will give them a pretty hard time as to why there are so many different words to start a question. They have no clue about present perfect, past simple let alone would you mind questions, which alone is a weird idea for a learner. Do you like cake? Do you eat rice? Does your brother like chips? Does your father work at a factory? And 20 - 30 more and repeat it next time as a review at the beginning of the lesson .... For beginners, this is the way. Once they are comfortable with it, and the next grammar topic is scheduled, others can be added. But in my view, mixing various grammar structures into one lesson is counter-productive for students who learn English as second language and who had little to no exposure to English beforehand. The biggest problem students face is the vocabulary. Way too many words during a class will confuse them.
