Original Red Robin is Kingdom Come Grayson. Jason Todd was Red Robin on Earth-51. In Countdown to Final Crisis, Red Hood/Jason from the mainstream universe got Red Robin's suit from Earth-51 Batman. He used it for a while but then threw it in garbage. Then the suit was found by Tim Drake's rogue and then Tim took it from him. Pre-crisis Jason isn't Red Robin

It's his character development and its established hes not mentally all there, especially after his resurrection with the Lazarus pit which is known to also cause mental issues. You might not like it, but it's a deep and tragic backstory.

@@maxstrike3022 Cassandra Cain and Bruce were in Lazarus Pit as well, so we can't really blame the Pit for everything. We also can't ignore the fact that he wasn't called out for his hypocrisy, for example: after Under the Red Hood, Bruce, Dick and Tim left Gotham to train and reconnect with each other for a year. Now, what was Jason doing this whole year? He could've killed Joker and many others while they were gone. The main problem with Jason is that he isn't needed, he was all about killing bad guys and questioning Batman's moral code but the writers can't let him do that.

@@fdjtron1732 Honestly, none of them outside of Greyson matter save for Batman himself and the story would be fine without them. Jason was actually merc'd by a villain that Batman should've been gotten rid of and, unlike Cass and Bruce, he wasn't born into wealth or a secret ninja school; he was raised by bums and had severe trust issues and had none of the discipline of the others as a base. His perceived "hypocrisy" is what actual humans do irl i.e. ppl who get a job in a field that has nothing to do with the degree they got. He only seems off because he acts like a ( relatively speaking) normal person under those conditions instead of like a comic book character.

@@maxstrike3022 that's kinda my point, he was good when he was dead, bringing him back serves no purpose for the story. I have nothing against Jason pre-Death in the family. I disagree, he had no problems with killing regular criminals and killing Joker was his whole point. Writers simply couldn't let him kill all the villains but they couldn't figure out how to make Jason and Batman's rogue gallery co-exist, so they decided to ignore this issue and pretend that everything is fine. That's bad writing at it's finest. As Robin he was pretty relatable, but that's it, his actions as Red Hood are not (Tim as Robin, and Stephanie are both relatable as well)
