The cost of living has increase a lot & still increasing. We are thankful for Sg govt COL vouchers, rebates, CPF top ups. These do help little but not enough to alleviate the financial burdens of retirees without recurring income, low income Gp, the average wage earners. What the govt can consider is lowering the minimum tender price or monthly rental of hawker stalls, coffee shops, HDB heartland shop space, reduce petrol costs or substantial petrol cost rebates for public transports (MRT, bus, taxis) & goods vehicles which in turn reduce transport cost. Substantial subsidy / rebates basic essential food household items such as rice, bread, sugar, salt, flour, cooking oil, condiments, eggs, vegetables, fruits, meats, fish, toilet paper & kitchen towels, etc. Reduce water, electricity& gas consumption cost for when hiring WP & SP how HDB flats household & HDB estates shops by reducing tariffs & give more rebates. Such efforts will surely reduce financial burdens substantially for majority of the population living in HDB flats. It may also have indirect impact to rental costs of HDB flats for WP & SPass foreign workers who r needed in Sg. Also govt should review HDB rental income tax and set low tax or no tax if it is within HDB set cap for a room or entire unit and a substantial jump of tax if HDB rental price is above such cap. HDB owners will gain better income & reduce rents and this helps in reducing business staff cost of hiring WP & SPass holders, which then reduces COL.

Gov better take some action on unreasonable hawkers that charges for things or food for more than 9 % increase... even customers with proves on stalls that charges food unreasonably still cannot take action? Should suspend those stalls for few days like the NEA...when found stalls lack of hygiene... some cases like charges extra chilli or even extra plates for use also need to be deal with ...these are matters that boils up or stress consumers
