Hi there. You do not have to use barcodes, although some sellers do prefer to utilize a barcode scanner. Square for Retail allows you to manually input inventory for your items as an alternative.

Depending on your shop you don't need money, put it on a tablet you got and just use pay to tap then get the reader for $60 when you can. Upgrade latter

For regular customers, who wish to receive recipient via email. Is there a way that the customer email can be remembered so the customer doesn't need to put in his or her email everytime? Thanks Same question if using square reader, thanks.

You can use the customer directory to save the customer's email. Also, when you use a payment card for the first time with a Square Seller, you are asked on the point of sale device to enter your email address or phone number to receive digital receipts for future purchases made with this card via email or text message. At this point, the email address or phone number is attached to that payment card. If you provided your email address, you will automatically be sent receipts to this address when you make subsequent purchases with that card at Square Sellers without having to enter in your email address each time. @@squareau thx, assume the same applies to square reader? The only difference is that I will need to use my mobile to enter the details if I am using the square reader(at the point of sale), while everything can be done on the screen if using the square terminal?

Even if you're using the app on your mobile device instead of the Square Terminal, the steps will be the same for you within the app.

@@squareau I have the same question - I've just set up a test discount and it gave me the option to use a passcode, so I chose that option. However, there's nowhere to add what the passcode has to be and the link you provided 3 months ago doesn't provide the answer either.

Can the square app on phone be switched between two device if i turn off bluetooth on the one not in use? or can it be only used just for one and only device?

A charging cable is included with the Square Reader. Your customer will be prompted to enter their pin on the screen if the transaction requires it.

You can disable the developer options from the Settings section of your device. Usually this can be done via your phone Settings > Developer Options. If you're unsure, you should be able to find this by googling your phone model + disable developer options.

On Square terminal, how do you create the payment option choice, that is, customer can choose cash or card, where it shows the adjusted rate for card due to surcharge? I saw this on s previous tutorial but can’t remember which one…..It basically showed the options to the customer…showing higher price for card, customer selects preferred option.? I hope this makes sense.

Square Terminal connects to the internet via wifi and doesn't have sim capabilities.
