I simulated this bpf and I'm getting exactly the same response as shown at the end. I was thinking, if we replace this short circuited stubs with open circuited stubs we should get a band stop filter and I tried it in my simulation, and yes I do get rejection from 1.5 to 2.5 GHz but I'm observing ripples in passband and S11 is also very less (<10dB) at some pass band frequencies. I was wondering why I'm not able to get smooth pass band, it would be great if someone can shine some light on this. Or is there any different calculation to design band stop filter using stubs?
@technologiesdiscussion167611 днів тому
Thank you for trying on stimulation tools to check the frequency response. Yes, you are right, when we replace Short with Open Circuited, it become a Bandstop filter. At Smith Chart, when u turn another Quarterwave, the charactertics changes completely. You need another set of rules to design Bandstop.
@Hari-uy3rm11 днів тому
Thank you for quick response sir, Can you do a video on how to design band stop filter? or can you share any research paper or article on how to design band stop filter? Nothing urgent, just wanted to know how these microstrip filters are designed and your channel is a gem sir :)

Any detail and complete book on this topic available???
Why can't these tutorials are so similar and there is no example of a modulation index of 1.6. So annoying!!!

I am sorry to hear that. The example in this video is simple for all to understand.

I think the equation for admittance is not correct. Impedance of inductor is jwL, admittance is 1/(jwl). Still good video. I think you mean to use the term "Impedance".
@technologiesdiscussion167614 днів тому
I am sorry, I think the title has typo mistake. My Bad. It should be Impedance of inductor. Thanks. All the Equations discussed here (in this video) are all correct except the header should be "Impedance of Inductor" Rather than "Admittance of inductor" Thanks. :)

In 4B, the equivalent circuit for inductor is R and L in series. In this lesson, 4C, the equivalent circuit is in parallel. Please explain.
@technologiesdiscussion1676Місяць тому
Equivalent circuit of an inductor as shown in 4C is presented as R & L in series. However, I can also express the R & L in parallel. In simple word, Rs is not equal to Rp. I convert the R value base on my use case. Thank and I hope i ans your Qns. :)

Thank you so much, great efforts and it is very useful; Please, I would ask you about the standard limit of error vector magnitude (EVM) in percentage (%) (EVM%) for WiFi received signal (IEEE 802.11 n), the same question for signal to noise ratio (SNR in dB); I's really will help me a lot if have exact and precise idea regarding those parameters!! I need those parameters to use them as a reference for assessing my transmitted RF signal performance after its propagation through multipath wireless channel in the simulation, Any sort of help would be really appreciated as soon as possible :)
@technologiesdiscussion1676Місяць тому
You can see this link for EVM in dB. www.litepoint.com/blog/error-vector-magnitude-why-it-matters-and-how-its-measured/ Then convert to %: EVM = -18 dB EVM % = [100 * 10^(-18/20)] % EVM % = [100 * 0.125892] % EVM % = 12.589 %

How did you take g4 and g5 values or g3 and g4 values while the even mode and odd mode impedances? In the place g4 and g5. you have replaced with g2 and g3. why?
@technologiesdiscussion1676Місяць тому
I am sorry, I dun understand your question. The question N=3 which means I have 4 sections (N+1) of coupled lines. Therefore I only have g1, g2, g3 & g4 only. I dun understand why there is g5 value. Thanks.
