The only thing I hate about this scene is how useless it makes Gandalf look! In the book Gandalf stood against the witch king and was 1:55 they were pretty similar. At 😢 point was the witch king stronger like here!

Strategically, Theoden was a very wise one. The indications that gives to the commanders of the Rohirrim are exactly what you would do if you have to releive a besieged city. Also, he doesn't hesitate for a second that they will be capable of doing what he has ordered. He is enraged and have absolute faith in mankind and he loves it. The orks didn't love Sauron, they were there obligated, and there's nothing more powerful than love. Bernard Hill embodied perfectly all of this, and he gave us the best speech of all cinema history right here. RIP, Theoden of Rohan.
