I use a "haversack" everyday. It's interesting that haversacks were used often by mountain men and now most men wouldn't be caught dead carrying a bag that looks like a purse. Great video!

That looks like an old knofe made by Western! I have one a little slimmer. Great utility when going fishing! Especially cleaning trout. No need for a filet knife. I wouldn't baton withbit though, thats for sure.

We carry a lot of similar functional items in our haversacks. However, some of the items I have moved to my belt. i.e. Possibles Pouch (includes fire kit) , first Aid kit. Also, carry my knife on my belt. And can carry saw and poncho on my belt. This belt is over and above the one holding my pants up.

When you said anything more than this and you need to go to the hospital. You made me remember how instead of going to the hospital I took super glue used it on my thumb and it worked 😃 why not have a little bit of something like that just in case you get a cut somewhere where you Band-Aids not going to work😅

Well James, you did it again, an over the top presentation! Our four (4) year old was on my lap and thrilled to see "his stove" in action making a hot drink! He loves hot chocolate made on his practice stove. All family members have a folding pocket stove as a back-up in their kits. The adults and older troops may use a variety of fuels including a small DIY alcohol burner. The younger ones are given gel alcohol fuel that we purchase in bulk. The fuel is dispensed from recycled plastic dish detergent bottles into an assortment of olive oil bottle caps and small tins, depending on the amount needed. We like the fact that a tip over does not spread as liquid fuel does, making practice sessions much safer. Now, I think I need (not simply want) that wonderful percolator you used in the video. I wonder if any company manufactures a pot like that these days? Time to do a search and thank you for a great video.
@WayPointSurvivalГодину тому
That's very cool, my friend. I'm glad that he enjoyed it! I purchased the stove from eBay. You need to look up vintage one cup coffee percolator.

Many folks especially older women don't understand that wearing a fanny pack with the pouch portion facing front is very impractical wearing it with the pouch behind you is way better.
@BrokenBarBox12 годин тому
Unless you use it to carry your ccw. Then forward carry is much more practical

Neat idea...but I would like to see it being used to catch fish.
@WayPointSurvival48 хвилин тому
Well, I didn't have time to do that while I was filming the video. However there are plenty of other people that have made it and used it. You can see many of their comments in the comment section. Also, you're not going to do any real casting with it as it's basically just hand line fishing with the improved retrieval system.
