I'm not saying that age limits and locking a kids phone up during school aren't helpful. But, we need to assist children and adolescents in setting healthy boundaries with their phones. It's like our drinking culture. Kids go hard at 21 or earlier when they head off to college, military, and adulthood. Restriction isnt enough. Parents need to model better behaviors as well when it comes to social media. It's entire cultural shift around phone/social media culture that needs attention

You want to give your kid a childhood? Stop surveilling their every move. Set some basic rules, enforce them, and otherwise LEAVE them alone.

The feminists think they are playing a zero-sum game against men for power, wealth, and privilege. They think they are advancing women as some kind of class by confiscating power from a tyrannical patriarchy that has gate-kept them out of institutions. But what they are actually doing by making men and women compete on equal terms is turning everyone, women and men alike, into interchangeable consumer units: self-sufficient - and alone.

Another intellectual who cannot parse basic terminology. Nobody ever said that masculinity was inherently toxic. And the reason men are lonely and disaffected is primarily economic. There is no pride of achievement, no job security, no money, and, to that end, an entire optimization cult has arisen according to which any vulnerability or hesitation justifies the most savage cruelty available. Unless you made your educational decisions based on projections of where the market was going to be 15 years before you made them, you're dismissed as some starry eyed hippie who doesn't understand the real world. God forbid you wanted to contribute to society in a way not designed to maximize profit, as a teacher or an artist or a writer or an academic in any non-STEM field. You may as well have not gone to school at all. All this from a system designed by a generation that smoked and f@cked its way through college and slouched its way into a stable job market with ample opportunity for anyone with a pulse. A generation that turned around and raised an entire cohort of men, told them that their ability to provide for themselves was the only metric of their very humanity, and then voted for politicians that pulled the rug out from under them. At the same it told them that any kind of solidarity with other people was weak or subversive or effete and sneered at the idea that education led to social mobility or any general betterment. This is the harvest of structuring a world based on fundamentally inhumane values like profit. And plenty of people warned them throughout the decades that what they were doing, that peeling back every worker protection, greenlighting every merger, tearing down the social safety net, refusing to enforce basic regulatory measures for safety or medicine, would inevitably produce a volatile mass of people with nothing to lose. They didn't care then, and they only care now because it's starting to affect them. I am a young man and sick to death of being lectured about manhood by people who have violated every value they admonished me to live by. Get. F%cked.

Here's how I maximize productivity and reasonably sane at work as a manager... Let phone calls go to voice mail and check them later. Call back as needed. Don't let unscheduled conversations interrupt your focus. Shared live Google sheets to keep track of workflow and keep people on the same page and assign tasks with color coding. Have a set work schedule where you come in and leave at the same time every day and make sure others know when that is. If the job provides a cell phone, keep a separate personal phone and leave the work phone at work or leave it in your car or silence it when not working. Schedule everything and be at least 2 weeks out in your mindset.

I would submit that the rigidities inherent in how a dominant culture “defines” what manhood (or womanhood) is ought to receive more attention than it now does. Why? Because the young can less likely achieve personal “authenticity” if they are demonized as “this or that!” Authenticity is to some degree always in a state of tension with attachment. Do we only accept only those who conform to some rigid construction of what we want them to be as parents? Are we rather able to tolerate differences in our children in order for them to flourish? Are not those differences vital to us later in life? I speak here of authenticity in the context of socially responsible mature adulthood! Keep in mind that for males in many families and subcultural settings, showing fear or sadness is not considered male-like. It is wuss-like. However, it is human to be sad or fearful, especially as a child or young adult. Excising these emotions from men, or describing men as “wusses” for that kind of emotionality is dehumanizing, especially if the resulting more culturally “acceptable” anger is then stigmatized as toxic! It’s past time for those who define socially responsible men or women as unacceptable for whatever reason to examine themselves; their projective identification of other’s unacceptability as little more than their inability to accept others! The “blame game” is alive and well among the most immature adult adolescents from our “wanna be” human kind!

I don’t ever thought ancel keys was wrong… but to say don’t eat fat at all… is the wrong answer… eat polyunsaturated fats n eat more of them… is a logical answer to that n not don’t eat fat ever again, that s too basic, right? Also that there s a link between everything connected to diet n i think we ve done a lot wrong with trans fats n highly processed oils… but why should that exclude the fact that we eat too much sugar n carbs too… i think both might be true… Like people use to think red meat is bad… n ya, i really think that just to eat one thing is always bad no matter what… but I think just industrial red meat is bad (cos these cows r raised with corn n hormones n antibiotics instead of grass n they r not able to move, they might be depressed n after some time u get a highly stressed, sick animal with a very bad omega 6 to 3 ratio) … would we raise this cow like it should be u get a very healthy piece of meat instead… all is connected here n nor eating no fats neither just don’t eat any carbs is true, but anyway bout of these claims r true together… We r just used to cherry pick everything n that won’t ever work at all ❤

Why aren't people critical of this constant "masculinity studies" derived, monotone underhanded analysis of men? The masculinity crisis punditry never stops, and people don't seem to have any critical though about how underhanded the premise and the rhetoric actually is. It's all about masculinity and internal conflict , but that is a very convenient and actually dishonest premise.

The thing is is that.....this lack of masculinity is similar to these shows on Discovery Channel that showcase people who live off of the land. We have strayed so far away from that lifestyle that it's amusing and entertaining for viewers to think that's how humans use to survive. Feminist movements are feminizing men and masculinity because men's masculinity is often depicted in assertive actions. Assertiveness get's you further in leadership positions. Men are natural leaders. Feminism came into focus to squash this...same as DEI....we are living through these movements that are softening and dumbing down the skill levels and drive levels for true leaders to truly obtain the positions of leadership. Same with the removal of SAT scores. Women are going to miss masculine men due to their own creation and design. Women tend to vote out of emotion based on immediate conditions.....this is going to bite themselves in the butt. MEN STAY STRONG KINGS

Dr Lemke, I have Lance Adams Syndrome following an asthma attack and have been on Benzos fir nearly 10 years. Started titrating down successfully 3 years ago. Everything was going well until traumatic “straw that broke the camel’s back” breakup last year. Going through depression, anhedonia, lack of appetite, lack of motivation. I believe I will heal but I am refusing to take anti-depressants. I am exercising, sun gazing, fasting regularly. Etc. I think what I’m going through might partly have to do with the Benzos, I’m trying to up my GABA receptors naturally (blueberries, etc). Any thoughts on how I can gracefully go through this? Thanks in advance to you both!
