I did agree with the explosion being underwhelming. I do like that it is a real explosion, but the size of it in the movie was NOTHING compared to an actual nuclear detonation. In a real nuclear explosion it's not so much firey at first, it's a blinding flash of white and then a huge mushroom cloud that goes hundreds of feet up into the sky. You can see nuclear explosions from space. The one shown in the film was spewing out in all directions, which is more in-line with something like a gas explosion. Also, because the camera was so zoomed in, the explosion lacked scale. It didn't look NEARLY as big as it should have. I know because one of my old friends was the world's top three pyro-technicians, along with my personal research because explosions fascinate me. Aside from the explosion though, Nolan aced it as usual with everything else.

When he says he'll kill all of them you can see his eyes change colour, nice touch!👌

Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt are a great casting choice, evident in they banter at the Oscars. The reserved humor of Ryan and expression's of Emily works together perfectly.

There was also a scene like this about a chimp killing a lot of people in terrifier 2 I feel both were inspired by Travis

i hope there's a Peter O'Toole cameo of some kind

Hollywood remakes of international films are rarely any good. From the preview, this looks ok, but I bet it falls short at the end of the day. Hollywood absolutely trashed their remakes of _Oldboy_ and _Martyrs_ for example, and it just didn't need to be done. Why not write and direct a different story? Pick up a script/book that has yet to be made into a film? I don't know, this might be one of those very rare cases where they manage to improve on the original, but I doubt it, the preview looks pretty cookie cutter to me
