Bear spray is a dangerous joke. I read where many died using spray. I carry a magnum pistol on my hip for quick access. You are in their territory. They see you as food or they protect their cubs. This person interviewed has no fear of bears is stupid. Something that can eat you You better fear them!

Bear charges man, man shoots bear. Bear learns nothing and dies. Bear charges man, man sprays bear. Bear learns and lives. If more people used bear spray on curious bears and angry bears, bears would eventually learn to stay clear of people on the trails.

He has a great attitude about his attack and her right she was only doing what bears and most people do protect them babies to the death. Bears have it rough and female bears have it even rougher because male grizzlys will kill and eat here babies to bring her back into heat so he can breed her and on top of that she has other animals and people that will hurt her and her cuds so she will attack and ask questions later and I don't blame them I admire and respect their courage and strength. So we need to except responsibility for putting our selves in a situation where we could be attacked in a bears territory they don't usually come to our house to attack us most of the time it's us invading what little habitat they have left.

Mental health is just as important as physical health. Sometimes they both need some extra care. Don't be afraid to get help when you need it.

Spraying oneself is common. Ask law enforcement. Most required to get sprayed before being allowed to carry pepper spray. Other, is like anything else, practice. Bears can chase down moose, deer. Incredibly fast. No human can hit their top speeds. So spray should be readily avaible and person well trained on its quick use. Great video!

I cannot imagine the absolute terror of this experience….I would have immediately died of a massive heart attack. I am afraid of just a few things…..sharks, poisonous snakes and anything with huge sharp teeth that wants to eat me! This is absolutely so scary.

Bear spray? Yeah that gonna be a hard no for me . I'll carry a 10mm on hip and a 500 mag on chest. Then maybe some.bear spray also , but rely on only spray? absolutely not

It's better to play dead with a protective sow. She wants to neutralize the danger to her cubs. Yelling and trying to look bigger just makes you more of a perceived threat to her babies and will only encourage her to initiate contact. Easier said than done, I know.
