Can someone say why rendering the game at 1440p or 2160p, then supersampling down to 1080p, wouldn't have solved the 1080p pixel issue?

I actually like the moving blocks and stealth aspects of the game just because of how it can break up the monotony of the gameplay. Because it's very easy for you to just go completely BRAINDEAD if you don't have anything else but the languages.

I have Dreams on my PS4 and it is really really really really good and the best part is, it was made by Media Molecule aka the creators of LittleBigPlanet some people might know that game, it's my favorite. It's sad what happened to LittleBigPlanet.

The difference between a marked bombable wall and an unmarked one is that one is just a locked door where a bomb is the key, and the other is a true secret. One is not necessarily superior to the other, and one is not bad game design, it's just different game design.

I hated the sand platforms the most. Reason being is the dash would trigger rather than to burst through the sand platforms as you intend. Thus the one thing i hated the most was the damn sand worm chase boss

Any reason why the build version might not work it works fine in the editor? It loads in but I just see the main camera background color. No high score. No bird. No pipes generated. Everything works in editor. Any ideas what might cause this? Amazing tutorial btw.

I thought that this game was overengineered in the way you talked about. Exploration felt boring because there was no anticipation of when or where I'd reveal the true path. It made me feel like anyone else, which is a trash feeling to have when you're a bounty hunter of galactic prominence with god bird and soul vampire DNA

There's a big difference between the two examples; Balatro's score is effectively the primary gameplay loop - if you calculate the score to determine how to best play the cards in your hand, you've basically automated away all the actual gameplay, which feels like 'cheating' to some, and few people do it because they can easily recognize that it wouldn't be fun. But with Isaac, the main gameplay loop is about moving and shooting skillfully, and modding in item descriptions doesn't really affect it directly, so it's a lot less like 'cheating' and barely affects the gameplay at all Not counting roguelike choices, of course, but those are separate, and a roguelike still needs a main loop in between the choices to make them meaningful

Your comment about optimization got me thinking about Pikmin and especially Pikmin 4. I found that game so hard to put down for a few reasons but especially the dandori part of it. Like yeah it’s in the name but it’s also just an utterly addicting thing to build your game around because people will constantly be wanting to get through as efficiently as possible and with losing as few Pikmin as possible. It’s so good. Oh and one thing I don’t hear many people mention is that metre that goes down when you defeat an enemy - there’s just something about it that tickles my brain I dunno why. So yeah it has number go up but it’s more than that. Good series :)

First time I watched this video I wasn't aware I was suffering from autism (it got kinda overshadowed by other issues). It's interesting to see this now. PS: text advancing automatically is not only bad for people with a form of dyslexia, but also those with ADHD. If I get distracted in the middle of reading a text box I often need to start over from the beginning and if it goes away before I can do that it's quite jarring.

I'm sure all of this is true. Also, in my experience, rewards and achievements still strongly motivate millions of players. Don't believe me? Play Call of Duty. Most of the players are running around willing to be slaughtered while using weak guns and doing silly things to complete everything. Completing all of these achievements gives them a sense of satisfaction. At the end of the day, maybe the question is which type of player do you want to make happy?

Weird, I have watched this video when it was released, and now, I have finally played Zero Mission for the first time ever. I am just one upgrade and a boss before the end. Playing other metroidvanias must have changed me, because I was sequence breaking a lot, considering I have way too much patience for things like learning bomb jumps and tend to try to go for secrets as they present themselves. As for the guidance, it disappears half way through the game, and since I was bomb jumping a lot, most of it didnt even guide me through the game, it was just there. With only one exception and that is the speed boost entrance to the lower Norfair. However, I believe if there was a single inaccessible, but known map square, or a half of a square with enemies, I would have found it out.

Prey just wasn't the most difficult game, even on the hardest difficulty, so adding an explicitly difficult DLC is an easier option than making an entire game like that from a developer not known for high difficulty.
