Everyone in the comments moaning and whining about VAR not reversing the Havertz penalty, but that is the exact point in VAR. It wasn't clear and obvious that it shouldn't have been a penalty. That decision is a call where what the official calls live would stand. I know it's completely soft but the GK put himself in a position where Havertz can take advantage and get a penalty. If he tried to retract his leg after he missed the original tackle, VAR likely would've reversed the decision. But he just leaves it out there after he misses the challenge.

Havertz did drag his foot, but the keeper put him off illegally. No contact needs to happen for a foul to have occurred. There have been many times when Jesus dodges the contact only the then be so put off balance he can't do anything, and of course the ref calls nothing.

2:17 premier league refereeing is horrible. how, with VAR, is a decision like the no pen okay? there is no reason why these decisions should vary this much with VAR in play. havertz deliberately drags a leg to draw contact (a flop) and gets the pen, but assignon gets shoved in the back and doesn’t? if there was no VAR i would be okay with human error, but with the ability to watch these back and reverse on-field decisions, this is unacceptable. -a neutral
