Every documentary is made from a specific point of view, and it was clear what the underlying one for this was. You can choose to document certain couples who have had lower educational and social opportunities, who live in fragile conditions, to showcase your judgement of "they shouldn't have more kids". You can choose to interview a person who is in deep depression and questions her own worthiness and willingness to live. You can build the narrative to portray your own point of view. And the money argument is fallacious - you could also divert money used for so many useless things to support people with chronic conditions or disabilities without making this about "these babies are spending/stealing money that could have been used to save other lives". Use your critical sense when watching these documentaries.

Watching this was absolutely surreal for me. I was born at 23 weeks and weighed 1lb and 12oz. I'm 31 now and apart from a couple of very minor chronic conditions I'm perfectly healthy and a successful adult. To know that so many people consider the benefit marginal for caring for these babies is just sad, that could have been me. I feel so grateful being alive and for the medical workers who believed in my care, especially knowing just how stacked the odds were against me.

To argue the validity of a life led permanently disabled absolutely reeks of eugenics and is a welcome dogpile subject. As a parent, one must make decisions for the sake of the whole life of a baby. Not just a short term salve for the pain of almost inevitable loss. Hard topic to discuss!
