It's just these easy net plays Rybakina missed because she didn't play them agressively enough (these are easy net play but you still have to "traverse" when hitting, not just move the wrists). It's one area she has improved (with the drop shot) but has still a lot of margin.

Truly a nail biter great semi final. A good match for both powerhouses. Elena just got mentally weak in the 2nd and 3rd set. Wish it was an all quiet no grunt finals but there will be loud grunts after all.

As predicted earlier Rybakinas inconsistancies finally caught up with her.! Her play is so predictable. Two or three brilliant points then two dismall faults. Also her serve was very sporadic in this match. She must learn to concentrate better and cut out the foolish unforced errors.! Her coach is not doing her any favors by constantly being in her ear with every point.! That must be totally distracting and very annoying. Sabalenkas team is much better and more supportive in that regard. Sabalenka also has issues that need attending.! She must learn that quile and shot placement are just ad valuable as power. Her hand eye coordination however is brilliant. I think if she keeps a cool head she may just beat Iga in the final? Not sure about that.! A lot will again depend on her serve.! Double faults will cost both the game.!
