Wow. So sad. We are in the market for the first time and it seems most use poor materials and construction . I think we are going to buy an off road family trailer like a Bruder or MDC. May cost more but will last longer

A lots of issues first of all you bought the cheapest POS on the market😂😂😂 you get what you pay for. And it doesn't seem like you know how to fix anything...not very smart and you put your family in danger.

I think you better get a different tailgate get like one. It’s like a fifth wheel tailgate. It’ll be a lot easier smaller thinner if you’re only using it for certain certain distances a fifth wheel trailer one or one of those ones that are made out of steel probably really good for that matter.

It’s not an insurance issue it’s a frame issue. They put cheap frames on these semi brand new or used ones so it’s not Insurance factor it’s a frame factor. I want you to know I had one of those things happened to me in 2014 on a 1969 linerhouse trailer type that one was built like Fort Knox but it’s still bent 6 inches I didn’t have a distribution hits for that trailer. I do have one for the one I have right now and they also say in the book to drive five hours slower. I only have one hitch and a distribution hitch. I’m gonna have a double sway hitch. I’ll go out on the road.

I can't tell you who is worse Keystone or Thor but I can tell you that pretty much all RV's are junk and dealer/manufacturer's don't honor their warranty's.

Your tank bracket bolts to the frame, move it back and have it welded on. Sorry for your pain

I know its the pits when insurance and manufacturers try to get out of doing repairs under warranty. I have had Geico for 25 years and they are the best as far as I am concerned. I have lived in Alaska in the Matanuska Valley my entire life and I drive truck for a living. I have made hundreds of trips to Tok and to Fairbanks hundreds of times over the years. Alaska has some of the worst roads and highways I have ever seen. From potholes to frost heaves. Construction is a normal thing on the roads here during the summer months. I would guess on average I see RV's of all types on the side of the road with broken frames, springs, or other issues at least a dozen times a year. However, I cannot count the number of times I have been passed on the highways by over loaded trailer's with to small of a truck doing 10 or even 20 miles an hour over the posted speed limits. It's so bad in the summer it's unbelievable unless you see it for yourself, and it seems to get worse every year. Just last week I saw a truck towing a camper break a spring just outside of Cantwell when he hit the frost heaves doing probably 65 miles an hour. His trailer was all over the place and that stretch is notoriously bad for heaves and is very well marked to slow down. I am not taking sides here with anyone but in most cases its driver error, even in construction zones following pilot cars in my opinion. One last thing, I know all of the road builders in Alaska and most of them will have an RV repaired if it's damaged in their construction zones when the roads are torn up. That might have been something you did not check with.

Sounds like you learned a lesson. You did not even know what your extended warranty covered. You were paying for it not even know what you had. You also did not know all trailers are made cheap and fast not caring about the consumer. All trailers have weakness to water damage and durability unless you buy a toy hauler or something made for durability. You cant blame the insurance companies or the manufacturer. Its up to you to know what you are buying and what you want covered with a warranty.

The issue is not just the frame … it’s also using the weight distribution system…. Underrated tow vehicle

Cheap frames + a dually truck with real stiff springs transfers every bump through the frame. Need frame reinforcement and a trailer coupling that absorbs the bump shock.

If the trailer frame is too cheap to hold up, the rest of it is probably 💩 as well.

So your towing with a dually. Very stiff rear suspension. Contributing factor? Did you visit a Cat Scale, fully loaded ready to travel, to get your axle weights and most importantly your tongue weight. With a 1 ton dually you probably only need a sway control device. As visit to the Cat Scale may have prevented this. Also, an Air Safe hitch is worth looking at. Think you bear some responsibility for the bent frame. Just my 2 cents worth. I have almost 2 millioniles towing. Yes, 2 million.

It is interesting that RV manufacturers are not subjected or required to meet certain minimum standards and appears to be also nkt required to have professional.engineers sign off their.design. I have a travel.trailer as well and have looked hard on different brands and almost all are poorly made using cheap materials.

Thanks for info, tire size makes the difference in your vehicles MPG, my 37s when near replacement are turn into 34.5” so the mpg and speedo readings are off a lot…something to keep in mind even with stock tires.

Given that this video was done two years ago and I've just started seeing Liz Awesome going after Lippert for the same issue now. So they've known about this way longer than they've led everyone to believe. According to her informant it is yeah substandard manufacturing on the frames and welding issues.
@garyobrien2155
@garyobrien2155 11 днів тому
the main reason this happened is your weight distribution hitch.....you need to un hook the bars when going over big humps or high angled entry or exit. this happens to more than just lippert frames

I have the DeWalt. I carry it in my RV when i go too AZ. for the winter. Seeing i have multiple batteries along for other tools, come in handy out in the desert for washing dust an grime off truck, bikes, awning, etc. from a 7 gal. water jug cause there arent any carwashes for miles where i go. Only con is the plastic quick connect that attaches too the gun is really stiff too fully seat. 👍 good review too!👌👍

Wow, that seriously blows. Thanks for sharing though as it's an eye opener of who not to deal with and what to expect. Extended warranties are rarely worth it, I don't buy them for that very reason. Sorry you had to go through that but I'm sure there are many others that are grateful for you sharing that experience.

Are those stabilizer bars I see? Ya no unless you never have to go over uneven roads bad idea you will bend the frame every time. I’ve never used them because if you have to rv on a uneven road you’re asking for trouble. If you load your rv right you never need them.

I bought a 2021 hartland mallard m32 and within the first year i had the Refrigerator, AC unit and had to have extra support to put in the floor as well as a bunch of trim fixed And cabinets fixed as well within the first year. So far I have not been impressed as well found out that the dealer put in additional extended warranty on The bill of sell that I did not authorized. However, because my signature was on the final bill a sale and then that was not disclosed. I was financial responsible for it. Come to find out later months after doing a bunch of warranty work on my camper. I found out that the financial person that I was initially working with was fired because of Her adding additional stuff on people's bill of sales. I reach out to camping world for help with all the issuesni was having asking them to swap me out campers and this would not help me due to they would take to much of a hit on the unit So I started to look up if my State had a lemon law and Washington State does not unfortunately. So I am stuck with pain for this camper. That has been more in the shop than I have been using it outside.

this confirms to me 1. Do not purchase a "new" trailer 2. Anything made after the lockdowns is junk due to shortages of supplies, etc. during that time and maybe even currently.

These people building and selling these are criminals I recently had to do repairs on a 2022 Winnebago. What a freaking joke. These mizers must have a crew of monkeys and or drunk tweekers building these over priced pieces of sh#t. I have never seen such crappy craftsmanship in my life. The absolute cheapest dog sh#t materials, all the wires, waterline and the waterpump were jammed into a spot under the sink like a rats nest. Then stapled paperboard put together covering it. The framework was made of such weak Chinese metel that the fu@king metal attaching the Axel to the weak ass frame buckled like sheetmetal when the previous owner barely hit a curb with one wheel. First thing I did was cut their junk ass 1/8 inch metal that buckled off and through it in my field. I then went to a real metal supply place and purchased some receiver hitch thick square tubing and thick flatstock that I fabricated into a real undercarriage that I welded to the Axel housing with my Lincon 220 welder. The waterline also leaked ruining the floor which also was fun to fix. There is litterly no insulation in the measly walls. The thing is like sleeping in a tent. The sh#tty wallpaper peals off inside. The trim was glued on by one thin strip of glue that also failed...Winnebago is not the only company making such crap. All the new rvs seem to be the same junk. I Have owned and repaired many and the newer they are the cheaper and more fragile they all are..These people are 100% building(if that's what you call this) these pieces of junk to look nice and pump them out to unsuspecting old folks and or people with no idea of any sort of construction at all. ..lol..he just said such a low failure rate...sure guy. THESE MIZERS SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES!..WINNEBAGO YOU SUCK..stick to building toys for toddlers you lames!..all about ripping people off just like the American polititions and big pharm,big tech and fu@king china...they should shove every unit up their arses!!..

I work in a field that means we live in an RV and travel year round. We have seen so much nonsense. Good insurance is key. I've noticed warranties are rarely worth the money. (With the exception of new cars/trucks.) The Keystone RVs of friends all have issues. The one I see the most I'd peeling skin at the corners. (Really, any joint) Then you see where all the thin luon looking wood is all wavy and been wet underneath. My first RV was a King of The Road and my current is a Spacecraft. Since I live in mine, I paid for better quality. Never a problem with anything but a roof air in 19 years. I called Dometic, and they sent me the $120 part for free. Anyway, that beast 5/16 steel & weld job will outlast the rest of the RV now. Use it on the next one in 15 years!

I'm 65 years old.I've been pulling trailers all my life.People thinks you need to put an equalizer hitch on their trailers.That is the worst thing you can do that.Trailer is to be to stay level if you ever go down a hole or a dip with equalizer on I guarantee will be in the frame
