Regarding smoking a cigar after the kill: when my 18 year old son killed his first “run-n-gun” gobbler (I.e. not in a blind), we hung up the bird and smoked a cigar together. A tradition I learned from the Pinhoti Project. My son later told me that was the coolest thing he had ever done. It literally brings a tear to me eye to recall that special memory. Thank you guys for this awesome podcast!

I live in Lamar county Alabama and never seen an eagle in my life until 3yrs ago a golden eagle was seen around, then in the winter I saw a bald eagle swoop down across the road and down the creek couldn't believe my eyes and before turkey season I saw 2 bald eagles in a field beside where turkeys strut every year

Enjoying your turkey related content podcasts. Your son needs to wear Sox or shoes. We don’t enjoy seeing his naked feet. Also the way was sitting late in the podcast how we was sitting with his legs spread the way he did.

In the history of modern day wildlife management you you just interviewed the Aldo Leopold of our time. In the history of Mossy Oak best interview you have done. In the history of UKposts best interview work watching. He is the Albert Einstein of Wildlife and Habitat management and glad to call him my friend of past 30 years.

I think all gobblers are trophies and a blessing but the most impressive gobbler I’ve ever taken as far as spurs and beard I called in with an old plastic Knight & Hale Fighting Purr push button call. Mid day 2008. Wish I still had it.

In the video, he mentions that he is using Arsenal herbicide. Will this method work with other herbicides such as Crossbow?

They react to soil temperature? Its messed up that my head immediately went to "we could simulate that and trick them into surfacing as a form of biological warfare." I am surprised DoD is not already on this.

These "poachers" are a bunch of goofs. Somebody so obsessed with a turkey. Down here all the kids look up to em. The head one is called" the god father". Haghhh! He needs to be locked up and that pretty little wife needs to see what a real man can do for her! Not having to drive around and pick up goof on side of the road " turkey poaching" haghhh

As a nutritionist, Mineral sources are of upmost importance. Equally important is the bioavailability of that source. They are not all created equal. Lots of minerals on the market with extremely poor quality sources.

Bears are not a positive thing. They are nuisance. They destroy fawns, ground nesting eggs, property, trail cameras, feeders, trash cans, and some stuff for no apparent reason (like cotton bales). I feel like they are down playing their predatory behavior hoping they will be more accepted by the general population. I deal with these things on a regular basis, and thought it was cool at first. Wish I’d never seen one now.
