Great advice on spotting mold. I ordered a box of cigars from Thompsons and 3-4 of them had mold. I wasn't sure it was mold until I watched this. Sent em back for a full refund. Much appreciated.

Wonderful advice. I’ve avoided these situations in my mere three years of exploring, However I wish there was a way or technique to avoid experiencing those clunkers that you described. I suppose watching videos and reading forums Before purchasing would be a wise approach. I tend to buy cigars in the five dollar to $12 range currently. Thanks Jim another great video

I love when that happens! The reason I started this channel in the first place is to make videos fellow cigar smokers could watch while they were smoking. You're my my audience and I really appreciate your feedback.

Great video. Of course the wrapper contributes one major thing to cigars: *appearance.* Because when we go to buy cigars, whether we see them live in a tobacco shop or an online pic or one in a magazine, all we see is the wrapper. How glossy is it? How oily-looking? Veiny? All that. That's all we have to go on (aside from the band). It's not like we can open it up like, say, a car hood and look underneath before we buy it. We certainly can't test-smoke a cigar before buying. This is crucial to sellers, and IMO is probably the most important aspect of the wrapper.
@cigarscigarscigars5 днів тому
That's a great point. The wrapper and band are the only visible info we get from looking at a cigar.

From what ive read and heard too many companies tried their luck at higher end cigars, didnt sell no where near as much as they should and then micallaf black waltz's in with a $10 cigar and smashes all the high scores.. So from what ive heard we will see a higher amount of $10-15 cigars in later 2024
@cigarscigarscigars5 днів тому
That's a great observation, and I think you nailed it in terms of that price range.
@jfpinkston117 днів тому
Msrp has increased significantly, but internet discounts have also increased significantly. Inflation has gone up and demand down. Likely the tail end of the recent “boom”

@cigarscigarscigars17 днів тому
Thanks for pointing that out! I should have mentioned in the video, in the US we smokers have been spoiled by lower taxes on cigars and mail/internet sellers. As a result, we enjoy relatively low cigar prices compared to most of the world.

I don't officially support any particular seller in my videos, but Cigar Page has become my go-to over the past year or so. I still like Fox Cigars as well, but their prices have become such that it makes it difficult - today I just got an offer from them, Brickhouse at $187.50 for box of 25, nearly $8 a stick for Brickhouse?
@sealisland117 днів тому
@@cigarscigarscigars Cigar Page has a secondary business, Field Supply. Sometimes the deals are better there. Often, not so much. I waste too much time watching the Scorcher deals. But, I often get some killer deals.

Suppose to be the highest rated 60 guage by cigar aficionado lol. Have you tried sinistro last cowboy? Conn broadleaf but I don't think they do 60 guage. They have a 56 guage though. Personally the larger guages overwhelm the wrapper flavors.
@Aaron-ep9neМісяць тому
Like most of cao it's a pretty 1 dementional cigar. Not a fan of large guages but I'll usually punch cut a figure 8 as the draws are usually airy.

Please do not spread this disinformation. There have been studies out of the nine different cigars. All with what people claim to be plume have been proven to be a form of mold
@cigarscigarscigarsМісяць тому
First, I didn't "spread disinformation" - I acknowledged that some people believe it exists and others don't. And regarding my opinion, I said it is virtually unheard of in residential humidors and I have seen only two instances in commercial humidors where it MAY have been present. Regarding that ONE study done by Family Habanos, to use that as scientific evidence would be disinformation. There were a total of TEN cigars submitted by the general public from several countries, not even close to a legitimate sample, and nine had mold. That is the only study of cigar plume versus mold that has been made public.
