Hey Jamie! This is great! if I wanted to replicate your experiment, what wire gauge do you recommend?
@JamiesBrickJams6 днів тому
Thanks! 😁 To be honest, that depends entirely on what voltages you want, what magnets you're using, and how much force you can exert on the mechanism. If you want something that can actually produce some reasonable power, I'd recommend some beefy n42 to n52 magnets (maybe 25x40x10mm), and then some wire that is not too thin - probably around 24 to 28 gauge. Ideally you want the thickest gauge wire you can get for your desired voltage - so if you only need 5 volts, try the thickest wire you can get 5 volts from. Yours will likely need a bit of tinkering to find the right balance, so good luck!

WHERE DO YOU EVEN GET THOSE YELLOW PROPPELLER PIECES AND WHAT THE HELL DO YOU TYPE IN SEARCH TO FIND THEM ON AMAZON (since Amazon is the only thing I have to shop for stuff like this) LIKE I TRIED TO FIND THEM ABOUT 1,000 TIMES AND NOT EVEN 1 PROMISING THING SHOWED UP😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

why were u shooting the nail with it dull point going to the direction its flying? 🤓
@JamiesBrickJams10 днів тому
Just depends what I'm shooting at - sometimes I don't want to destroy whatever is at the other end 😉 The blunt end sometimes also produces more pushing power than piercing

@squorsh15 днів тому
One thing I'd suggest for better accuracy would be to measure the voltage you're getting from the batteries for use on your graph's horizontal axis. Your 45 volts from 5 batteries may be quite a bit lower than nominal from the battery voltages dropping from use.

Hi Jamie, pleased to watch you. My 6 year old son has been watching you for a while. He is asking that I create a similar setup for the motor. Would you kindly share where to buy material to create the Lego motor and generator and share names of the itmes. Many thanks to you.
