Neat! I did something very similar 25 years ago. Back then, we still had NiCd's and the electronics weren't nearly so small. So I had to start with a 1/24 slot car. (Nowhere near 1/87!) But yeah, I remember using the dremel to trim up tiny brass pieces that I soldered together, and I made bushings exactly like you did here. Now a days, I have a 3d printer, so if I were going to try this again, I would DEFINITELY be employing that! :)
